The Universal Connector Panel (UCP) system is how a Middle Atlantic rack presents its inputs and outputs. A UCP chassis or frame kit mounts in the rack, and interchangeable connector plates drop into it: XLR, BNC, banana, RCA, HDMI, D-sub, RJ45, ELCO and blanks. Rather than drilling a custom panel for every room, you assemble the interface from standard modules, which means the panel can be changed later without fabricating anything.

What does UCP stand for?

Universal Connector Panel. It is a modular system: a chassis or frame mounts in the rack and holds interchangeable connector plates, so one hardware standard covers audio, video, data and control interfaces.

Can I change the connectors later?

Yes — that is the point. Swap the plate rather than fabricating a new panel. A room that gains an HDMI input two years from now needs one module, not a new rack panel.

Do I need a chassis, or can plates mount directly?

Plates mount into a chassis or frame kit. Choose the chassis by the number of rack spaces and module positions the interface needs, then populate it with plates and blanks.

Should unused positions be left open?

No. Fit UCP blanks. Open positions let dust and air through the rack front and make the panel look unfinished.

Are custom and pre-punched panels available?

Yes — pre-punched panels for common connector patterns are stocked, and custom panel work is available through Middle Atlantic. Ask us if you need a specific connector layout.
