Are Middle Atlantic racks 10-32 or 12-24?

Middle Atlantic AV racks are predominantly 10-32 tapped rail. Server-style and cage-nut rails also appear in the line. Check the specific frame before ordering hardware in bulk, because the wrong thread is a whole install day lost.

Why trim-head rack screws?

The trim head seats flush and is less likely to damage the finish on equipment ears or foul against adjacent devices. On a rack that will be opened repeatedly, that matters more than the price difference.

How do I choose a caster base?

By frame footprint — a CBS base is matched to a specific rack series and width, so a CBS-MRK-31 fits an MRK 31" frame, not a WRK. Also check the loaded rack weight against the caster rating, and use locking casters wherever the rack will sit still.

What does a riser base do?

It lifts the rack a few inches off the floor, which creates a cable entry path underneath and keeps the rack clear of wet-mopped floors. Remember it adds height, so check ceiling and door clearances.

Do I need to ground the rack?

Yes. A grounding bus bar gives every device in the rack a common bonding point, which is both an electrical safety measure and a practical fix for hum and noise problems in audio systems.
