A credenza is where the rack goes when the room will not tolerate a rack. Middle Atlantic's C5 and C3 series start with a steel frame that accepts standard 19-inch rack rails, then finish it with wood kits, doors, handles and tops so the result reads as casework rather than equipment. Frames are available in single and multi-bay widths and 22" to 32" depths, with shelf systems, flip shelves, ventilation, cable management and lock kits designed to fit. Pair a credenza frame with a slide-out or rotating rack system and the equipment inside stays fully serviceable.

Will equipment overheat inside a credenza?

It will if the credenza was not designed for it. Middle Atlantic frames have planned ventilation paths and accept fan kits and vent panels — specify them based on the equipment load rather than assuming passive airflow is enough. This is the most common credenza mistake.

How do I service equipment inside a credenza?

Fit a slide-out or rotating rack system. It pulls the rails out of the credenza and, on SRSR models, rotates so the rear panel faces you. Without one, servicing means emptying the credenza.

What is the difference between C5 and C3?

Both are furniture-grade rack frames with matching wood kits. C5 is the primary credenza platform in a range of depths and bay counts; C3 is the modular furniture frame line with its own wood and shelf kits. Bay count, depth and finish availability are the practical differentiators.

Can I match the room's millwork?

Wood kits come in a range of standard finishes, and the steel frames can also be built into custom millwork by a joiner if an exact match is required. Tell us the finish target and we will advise which route is realistic.

How many rack spaces fit in a credenza?

It depends on frame height and bay count — single-bay frames typically hold a modest rack load, and multi-bay frames scale from there. Send us the equipment list and we will confirm the frame size.
