Middle Atlantic Slide-Out & Rotating Rack Systems (SRS & SRSR)

Racks that slide forward and rotate so you can service the back of the system in a space that has no back.

The SRS slide-out and SRSR rotating rail systems solve one specific and very common problem: equipment installed inside a credenza, millwork, closet or under a counter where nobody can get behind it. The rack rails ride on heavy-duty slides, pull straight out of the enclosure, and — in the SRSR versions — rotate up to 90 degrees so the rear panel faces the technician. Capacities run from roughly 125 lb on 2-slide models to 250 lb and above on 4-slide models, in rack sizes from about 8 RU to 30 RU.

Slide-Out Families in This Collection

  • SRS2 Series — 2-slide systems rated around 125 lb, 8 to 15 RU, for lighter credenza and millwork installs.
  • SRS4 Series — 4-slide systems rated around 250 lb for heavier equipment loads.
  • SRSR-4 Series — rotating sliding rail systems with 4 slides at 19" depth, 14 to 30 rack spaces.
  • SRSR-X Series — extended-depth rotating systems at 23", 12 to 30 rack spaces, for deeper equipment.
  • SH-SRSR Shelves & Accessories — shelves, cable carriers (SRCC) and hardware built for slide-out service.

Why Specify a Slide-Out Rack

  • Full rear access in built-in millwork, credenzas and under-counter cabinets
  • Rotation puts the rear panel at a working angle instead of a wall
  • Cable carriers keep the loom organized through the full travel so nothing snags or unplugs
  • Turns a two-person unracking job into a one-person service call
  • Standard 19-inch EIA rails accept the same shelves, blanks and power as any other rack
  • Rated slide capacities published per model so you can specify against real equipment weight

Typical Applications

  • Conference room credenzas and boardroom millwork
  • Hospitality and lobby casework with concealed AV
  • Retail fixtures and point-of-sale enclosures
  • Broadcast and studio furniture with built-in racks
  • Courtroom, council chamber and lectern-integrated equipment
  • Any closet where the rack has to sit against a wall

SRS2 2 ~125 lb No
SRS4 4 ~250 lb No
SRSR-4 4 Heavy, 19" depth Yes
SRSR-X 4 Heavy, 23" depth Yes

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between SRS and SRSR?

SRS slides the rack straight out of the enclosure. SRSR slides it out and then rotates it, so the rear of the equipment turns toward you instead of facing back into the cabinet. If the rack is in millwork with no rear access at all, you want the rotating version.

How much clearance do I need in front of the cabinet?

Plan for the full slide travel plus the rotation arc — in practice, allow at least the rack depth in front of the enclosure, and more for SRSR models that swing. Getting this wrong is the most common design mistake with slide-out racks.

How do I keep cables from unplugging as the rack travels?

Use an SRCC cable carrier. It guides the loom through the full extension and retraction so nothing is pulled taut, snagged or disconnected. Dress service loops at the pivot, not at the device.

What weight can a slide-out rack take?

Roughly 125 lb for 2-slide SRS2 systems and roughly 250 lb for 4-slide SRS4 and SRSR models. Weigh the actual equipment including power and cable, and leave headroom — slides are rated for the whole loaded rack, not the heaviest device.

Can a slide-out system go into existing millwork?

Often yes, provided the internal opening clears the rack width and the cabinet structure can carry the extended load. Send us the internal cabinet dimensions and equipment list and we will confirm before you order.
