Planar Clarity Matrix LCD Video Walls

The mission-critical tiled LCD wall: off-board redundant power, 0.88mm seams, 24x7 duty.

Clarity Matrix is Planar's flagship LCD video wall system and the platform specified when a wall cannot go dark. What separates it from an ordinary tiled display array is architectural: power is moved off the back of the panels into a Remote Power Supply with n+1 redundant hot-swap modules, and the array hangs on the EasyAxis six-axis mount with a service mode that lets a technician pull a single display from the front or rear without touching its neighbours. Creation Networks stocks the current G3 generation plus a deep bench of legacy G2 panels, trim, stands and spares for existing installations.

Understanding LX and MX Model Numbers

The prefix denotes brightness tier, not size. LX = 500 nits; MX = 700 nits on current 55in models (earlier G3 revisions rated MX at 800 nits). The number that follows is the diagonal in inches — 46 or 55. Suffixes then encode panel generation and options: -L landscape, -P portrait, -V VESA, -ERO optically bonded protective glass, -T touch, -F fiber. So MX55M-L-ERO is a 700-nit 55in landscape panel with ERO glass.

Clarity Matrix Product Families

  • Clarity Matrix G3 — 0.88mm bezel (M models) — MX55M and MX55M-L-ERO at 700 nits, LX55M and LX55M-L-ERO at 500 nits. LED backlight with local dimming, rated 24x7. Planar markets 0.88mm tiled bezel-to-bezel as the industry's narrowest seam.
  • Clarity Matrix G3 — 2.6mm bezel (X3 models) — MX55X3 at 700 nits and LX55X3 at 500 nits on commercial-grade IPS panels, including fiber variants. The value point when a hairline seam is not the priority.
  • Clarity Matrix G3 — 1.7mm and 3.7mm bezel — MX55X / LX55X and MX46X / LX46X at 1.7mm; MX55U / LX55U and MX46U / LX46U at 3.7mm, at 800 or 500 nits depending on revision.
  • Clarity Matrix G2 — the prior generation, still widely installed and still supported: LX46HDU, LX46HDS, LX55HDU, LX55HDX, MX46HDU, MX46HDX, MX55HDU, MX55HDX and their ERO and 100-series variants, in landscape, portrait and VESA orientations.
  • Complete packages — pre-engineered 110in 2x2 (4K) and 165in 3x3 (6K) bundles with displays, mounts, cables, power supply and controller. An 8K 4x4 220in configuration is also available.
  • Specialty — LX46U-3D, a 46in stereoscopic 3D panel at 3.7mm bezel with a 3.6in install depth, plus MultiTouch configurations supporting walls up to 350in diagonal.
  • Trim, stands and spares — cosmetic edge trim, top and bottom cover sheet metal, 1x3 column floor stands and replacement LCDs for both generations.

  • TAA and ADA compliant; calibrated and validated with the Clarity Matrix ColorBalance Tool, which supports both G2 and G3
