Planar and TAA Compliance

Planar manufactures in Prešov, Slovakia and through partners in Taiwan — both TAA-designated countries — which is the basis of its U.S. federal eligibility. Planar highlights DirectLight Ultra, Slim, Pro and Essential, Clarity Matrix G3, the 21by9 Series, UltraRes W, UltraRes P, UltraRes X and UltraRes L as TAA compliant. Important caveat: TAA compliance is granted per part number, not per brand, and the 21by9 Series is offered in both TAA and non-TAA versions. If you are bidding federal or SLED work, ask us to obtain a per-SKU TAA certification letter before you submit. Planar also runs a GovCare program offering extended warranty of up to five years on qualified U.S. Government purchases, plus deal registration.

What's the difference between Planar's LED video walls and LCD video walls?

LED video walls like DirectLight Ultra have no bezels at any size, at a higher cost per pixel. LCD video walls like Clarity Matrix G3 have thin visible seams (0.88mm) between panels but cost significantly less per square foot, making them the standard choice for always-on control room walls.

What pixel pitch do I need for my viewing distance?

Pixel pitch determines minimum comfortable viewing distance — finer pitches (0.7mm-0.9mm) suit close-viewing corporate lobbies and boardrooms, while coarser pitches (1.5mm-1.8mm) are appropriate for larger rooms and auditoriums where viewers sit further back. Our engineers model pixel pitch against your specific room dimensions before specifying a wall.

Is Planar TAA compliant for federal and government bids?

Many Planar lines are TAA compliant, including DirectLight Ultra, Slim, Pro, and Essential, Clarity Matrix G3, and select UltraRes models, but compliance is certified per part number, not brand-wide. We can pull a per-SKU TAA certification letter before you submit a federal or SLED bid.

Do you provide legacy support for older Planar displays?

Yes. We stock matching panels, trim, and spare modules for legacy Planar product lines including the discontinued QE, EP, and PS Series, and can map an older SKU to its current replacement when a display reaches end of life.
