1DLP, 3DLP or 3LCD

A 3-chip DLP produces each colour on its own device rather than sequencing them through a wheel, which removes rainbow artefacts and holds colour accuracy at high brightness. Above a certain venue size those differences become visible from the seats, which is why 3DLP is the standard for large rooms rather than a premium option.

1DLP covers most installation work at lower cost with excellent contrast. 3LCD delivers equal white and colour brightness, so data-heavy content in a lit room looks as bright as the specification suggests.

Brightness follows screen and ambient light

Not room volume. A large room with controlled lighting may need less output than a smaller one with windows. Calculate from screen size and the light you cannot eliminate, then confirm whether the figure quoted is ANSI, ISO or centre lumens — those are different measurements and comparing across them produces the wrong answer.

Most ship without a lens

Christie installation projectors are generally supplied as no-lens bodies so the optic matches the room. The lens is a required line item, calculated from throw distance — see the lens range.

Blending and multi-projector

For edge-blended and warped installations, confirm the models support the geometry and blending you need in the configuration you are buying, and plan for the processing and alignment time at commissioning. That is design work, not setup.
