This collection covers Meyer Sound's small-format installed loudspeakers — the in-ceiling, miniature surface-mount and compact subwoofer models used in residential listening rooms, home theaters and the architectural spaces where a visible loudspeaker is not an option. Most of what is here runs on IntelligentDC, which is the reason to specify these products rather than a conventional install speaker: the loudspeaker receives DC power and audio over a single cable from a rack-mounted supply, so there is no amplifier at the speaker, no local AC, and no amp rack to size against driver loads.

Ashby in-ceiling loudspeakers

The Ashby-8C and Ashby-5C are self-powered in-ceiling loudspeakers in 8-inch and 5-inch formats, stocked in black and white, with and without a rear attenuator. The 8C is the wider-bandwidth choice for primary listening; the 5C fits tighter ceiling cavities and secondary zones. Trim and mounting hardware is stocked alongside them — tile C rings, C rings with bridge, new-construction brackets, grille frame assemblies in both finishes, and pendant kits for open ceilings. On a remodel the C ring and bridge kits matter as much as the speaker: they are what lets the installer land the cutout cleanly in an existing ceiling.

MM-4XP and UP-4slim surface-mount

The MM-4XP is a four-inch self-powered loudspeaker small enough to disappear against architecture, available in black and white with a universal U-bracket kit in either finish. The MM-4XPD adds directional pattern control in the same footprint, which is what you specify when the loudspeaker sits close to a seated listener and spill into the next zone is the problem. UP-4slim is the shallow three-way option for walls and soffits where depth is the constraint, with U-bracket and yoke mounting kits and a weather-resistant version for covered outdoor areas.

MM-10 compact subwoofers

The MM-10 family provides low-frequency extension without a floor-standing cabinet. MM-10ACX and MM-10AC take AC at the subwoofer and pass IntelligentDC through to satellites; MM-10XP is the fully DC-powered version. All are stocked in standard and weather-resistant builds with three-pin and five-pin input options, so the connector scheme stays consistent across an installed system.

IntelligentDC power supplies and cabling

The MPS-482HP drives two channels and the MPS-488X drives eight, both in a single rack unit, with a 2RU tray kit and a wall bracket kit for installations without a rack. EN3 and Phoenix cable assemblies are stocked in 10, 20, 30, 50, 100 and 150-foot lengths — worth pulling the run lengths off the drawings and ordering with the loudspeakers, because these are the parts that hold up a trim-out.

Specifying an installed system

The constraint on this kind of work is almost never the loudspeaker. It is ceiling cavity depth, cable path, where the rack lives, and how many channels one supply can carry across the run lengths involved.
