Column length is calculated from the finished ceiling to the required lens centreline — not from the structure above. Getting that from the reflected ceiling plan before ordering is what prevents a column that is three inches short on install day.

Confirm the mount is rated for the projector weight including the lens, and that the interface bracket matches the chassis. A universal mount still needs the right adapter, and that is the part most often missing when the crew arrives.
