The Peerless-AV CMJ455 is a suspended ceiling mount designed for projector installations in drop-ceiling environments, consisting of a ceiling tray system supported by tie wires that replaces a standard 2x2 ceiling tile while providing five attachment points and outlet box knockouts for clean projector positioning.

Product Description

The CMJ455 is specifically engineered for environments with suspended or drop ceiling grid systems — classrooms, conference rooms, training facilities, and boardrooms where projectors need to be securely positioned without penetrating or disturbing the structural ceiling above. The mount replaces a single 2x2 ceiling tile and can also be installed above existing 2x2 or 2x4 ceiling tiles by running tie wires to the structural ceiling above the grid.

The two-piece design — consisting of an 8x24" filler tray and a 15.75x24" ceiling tray — offers five distinct attachment points for the projector mount, allowing the projector to be positioned within the grid opening rather than being locked to a single center point. This variable positioning capability is essential for achieving proper throw distance and image alignment in rooms where the projector cannot be repositioned once the ceiling tile is installed.

Two electrical outlet box knockouts are incorporated into the tray, providing a dedicated location for power and signal cable entry without running cables along the ceiling grid. The unit includes a flush mount tube and tie wire supports. Note that hanger brackets are not included with the CMJ455 and must be sourced separately. The 1-1/2"-11.5 nut fitting on the CMJ455 accepts a standard extension column for adjusting drop height.
