Product Overview
The Symetrix 80-0090 xOut 12 is a 12-channel Dante-to-analog output endpoint that converts Dante network audio to 12 balanced analog outputs, enabling AV designers to deliver amplifier feeds, zone audio, or monitor sends from a centralized Dante DSP to remote locations across standard Ethernet infrastructure. With Phoenix terminal connectors on all outputs and straightforward Dante device operation, the xOut 12 is a rack-mount remote output expander for Symetrix Radius NX Dante DSPs and any other Dante-enabled audio system. It is the standard solution for Dante distributed AV installations where analog amplifiers or speakers must be driven from a network audio system at a distance from the central DSP.
Product Description
The xOut 12 receives up to 12 Dante audio channels from any transmitting Dante device on the network and converts them to 12 balanced analog audio signals, available on Phoenix terminal output connectors for driving commercial amplifiers, powered speakers, zone distribution equipment, or recording inputs. Dante routing is configured through Audinate’s Dante Controller software, and the xOut 12 appears as a standard Dante receiver on the network without requiring proprietary software or complex commissioning. By placing the xOut 12 at the point of use—near amplifiers, speaker clusters, or recording equipment—AV designers eliminate long analog cable runs and instead use the existing Ethernet infrastructure for high-quality, low-latency audio transport. The xOut 12 complements the Symetrix xIn 12 and xIO series as part of a complete Dante-distributed I/O system designed around a central Radius NX Dante DSP.
Key Features
- 12 Balanced Analog Outputs — Phoenix terminal connectors provide reliable, permanent termination for driving commercial amplifiers, powered speakers, or zone distribution equipment at a remote location.
- Dante-to-Analog Conversion — Converts 12 Dante network audio channels to balanced analog signals, extending DSP output reach across Ethernet without long analog cable runs.
- Standard Dante Device Operation — Managed through Dante Controller; compatible with any Dante transmitting device on the same network domain, not limited to Symetrix products.
- Rack-Mount Form Factor — Installs at the remote output location in a standard equipment rack, keeping analog cabling short while leveraging Ethernet for long-distance audio transport.
- Ideal for Distributed Amplifier Feeds — Places amplifier inputs exactly where needed in large facilities, auditoriums, or multi-room systems without dedicated analog infrastructure between DSP and amplifier locations.
- Complements xIn 12 and xIO Series — Designed to work alongside Symetrix input and I/O endpoints as part of a complete Dante-distributed AV infrastructure.
Typical Applications
- Remote amplifier feed delivery from a centralized Dante DSP
- Multi-zone audio output distribution in large commercial facilities
- Auditorium and house of worship Dante-to-amplifier output extension
- Boardroom and conference center distributed output architecture
- Broadcast and presentation facilities requiring remote analog outputs from a Dante network
- Campus-wide distributed AV systems with centralized processing and distributed amplification

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does the xOut 12 work with DSPs from manufacturers other than Symetrix?
A: Yes. The xOut 12 is a standard Dante device and receives audio from any Dante-enabled transmitter on the same network domain, regardless of manufacturer.
Q: What software is required to route audio to the xOut 12?
A: Dante routing is configured using Audinate’s free Dante Controller software, which runs on Windows or macOS. No proprietary Symetrix software is required for Dante routing.
Q: Can the xOut 12 and xIn 12 be used together to create a complete remote I/O point?
A: Yes. Combining the xOut 12 (12 Dante outputs to analog) with the xIn 12 (12 analog inputs to Dante) creates a 12x12 remote I/O node at any location on the Dante network, complementing a central Symetrix Radius NX Dante DSP.
Q: What is the latency of the Dante-to-analog conversion?
A: Dante latency is configurable in Dante Controller, with typical settings ranging from 0.25 ms to 10 ms depending on network configuration. The analog conversion itself adds negligible latency beyond the Dante transport.
Q: What warranty is included?
A: Symetrix provides a five-year limited warranty. Contact Creation Networks for warranty registration and authorized service support.
