Product Overview
The Symetrix Server D100 (SKU: 80-0231) is an enterprise-class 2U rack-mount AVoIP DSP server engineered for large-scale commercial audio installations where channel count, processing headroom, and system uptime are non-negotiable. Built on an HP Enterprise processor platform, the Server D100 ships with 256x256 Dante channels, 64 channels of acoustic echo cancellation, 32 media playback channels, and 8 media record channels — all programmable through Symetrix Composer with no per-seat licensing fee. It is the top of the Symetrix DSP range and the natural specification for campuses, transportation hubs, performing arts centers, museums, casinos, and any project that outgrows a single-chassis DSP.
Product Description
The Server D100 delivers approximately four times the DSP power of Symetrix EDGE and Radius NX, processing at 40-bit floating point precision at 48 kHz throughout. Unlike EDGE and Radius NX, the Server D100 has no built-in analog I/O and no option card slots — it is a Dante-only DSP designed for installations where analog termination happens at distributed Symetrix xIO endpoints or third-party Dante-enabled devices. Dante channel capacity is upgradeable via software channel pack licenses: the 128x128 Dante Channel Pack (SKU 25-0001) expands the platform to 384x384 Dante channels, the 32 AEC Channel Pack (SKU 25-0002) raises AEC capacity to 96 channels, and the 96 Playback Channel Pack (SKU 25-0004) extends media playback to 128 channels — all without a chassis swap. Dual hot-swappable redundant power supplies protect against unscheduled downtime in mission-critical deployments. Four RJ45 Ethernet ports serve Dante audio, control, and HP iLO (Integrated Lights Out) IT management, making the Server D100 compatible with enterprise network management workflows. The same Symetrix Composer site file used on a Prism or Radius NX scales directly to the Server D100, preserving programming investment across the Symetrix platform.
Key Features
- 256x256 Dante Channels (Base) — Ships with 256 bidirectional Dante channels, expandable to 384x384 via software license without hardware changes.
- 64-Channel AEC Included — Onboard acoustic echo cancellation for up to 64 channels, expandable to 96 channels via the 32 AEC Channel Pack add-on license.
- 32 Media Playback / 8 Record Channels — Integrated media playback engine supports background music, paging tones, and event-triggered audio; expandable to 128 playback channels.
- 40-Bit Floating Point Processing at 48 kHz — Approximately 4x the DSP power of EDGE and Radius NX, providing headroom for complex signal chains in large enterprise sites.
- Dual Redundant Hot-Swap Power Supplies — Both PSUs are hot-swappable during operation, meeting uptime requirements for broadcast, transportation, and performing arts installations.
- HP Enterprise Platform — Built on proven HP Enterprise server hardware with iLO remote management support for IT-aligned network administration.
- Dante-Only Architecture — No analog I/O or expansion card slots; designed to pair with distributed Dante endpoints for clean rack-mount deployment.
- Single Composer Site File — Programmed entirely in Symetrix Composer; the same site file interoperates with all Symetrix DSP platforms in a mixed installation.
- Software-Scalable Channel Counts — Dante, AEC, and playback channels scale via software license, protecting capital investment as projects grow.
- AES67 Compatible — Supports AES67 interoperability alongside Dante for installations with mixed-protocol AVoIP infrastructure.
Typical Applications
- University and K-12 Campuses — Central DSP for multi-building audio distribution, paging, and lecture capture across hundreds of Dante endpoints.
- Transportation Hubs — Airports, transit stations, and rail terminals requiring centralized paging, AEC for noisy environments, and high channel counts.
- Performing Arts Centers and Theaters — High-channel-count installations with media playback, FOH processing, and distributed monitoring.
- Museums and Themed Entertainment — Synchronized multi-zone audio, event-triggered playback, and exhibit sound design at scale.
- Casinos and Gaming Floors — Dense distributed audio with independent zone control, paging, and background music across large footprints.
- Stadiums and Large Venues — Enterprise-scale DSP for bowl audio, press facilities, concourse paging, and media playback.
- Corporate Campuses — Centralized audio processing for conferencing, all-hands spaces, and multi-floor paging systems.
- Broadcast Studios — High-density Dante routing with AEC for hybrid remote production environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does the Server D100 have built-in analog inputs and outputs?
- No. The Server D100 is a Dante-only DSP with no analog I/O and no expansion card slots. Analog connectivity is handled by distributed Symetrix xIO endpoints (such as the xIn 12, xOut 12, or xIO XLR wall plates) or other Dante-enabled devices on the same network.
- What Composer version is required to program the Server D100?
- Symetrix Composer 9.0 or later is required. Composer is free to download and use with no per-seat or per-device programming license fee.
- Can the Server D100 run in the same Composer site file as other Symetrix DSPs?
- Yes. A single Composer site file can include the Server D100 alongside EDGE, Radius NX, Prism, and xIO endpoints — the entire Symetrix platform is compatible within one site file.
- How do I expand the Dante channel count beyond 256x256?
- Purchase the Symetrix 25-0001 128x128 Dante Channel Pack software license, which can be applied to raise the bidirectional Dante channel count up to 384x384 without any hardware change.
- What is the HP iLO port used for?
- The HP Integrated Lights Out (iLO) management port provides remote IT administration of the Server D100's underlying HP Enterprise platform — including power management, health monitoring, and remote console access — independent of the audio system.
- Is the Server D100 TAA compliant?
- Symetrix is a US-based manufacturer. Verify TAA compliance per SKU with your Symetrix representative or contact Creation Networks for project-specific compliance confirmation.
- What warranty does the Server D100 carry?
- Symetrix provides a standard limited warranty on hardware products. Contact Creation Networks for current warranty terms and extended support options.
