Cambridge NPX networked paging stations, AVB network switches and touch panel controls for sound masking systems that also carry paging and background music.

Paging on the masking infrastructure

Because Qt X and Dynasound emitters carry paging and music on the same cable as masking, a building gets overhead paging without a second speaker system, a second cable run or a second set of ceiling penetrations. On a retrofit that is often the entire business case.

Choosing a station

NPX stations come in 4-button and 10-button versions, with gooseneck or handheld microphone. Button count follows the number of zones someone needs to page independently — not the number of zones in the system. A receptionist paging the whole building needs one button; a school office paging by wing needs one per wing.

Handheld versions suit noisy environments and positions where the operator is not seated at a desk.

Network requirements

Networked masking and paging need the switch configured correctly — the AVB switch listed here is specified to work with these systems out of the box, which avoids the multicast and QoS configuration a general-purpose switch would need.

Creation Networks designs masking, paging and music as one system including the network layer. Call 888-230-3661 or email sales@creationnetworks.net.
