Absen Micro LED & COB Displays (15 products)

Absen Micro LED displays use chip-on-board construction, where the LED dies are encapsulated in a resin layer across the whole module face rather than mounted as individual packaged LEDs. The range covers flagship video wall panels from 0.93mm, the professional KLCOB series, and the X Series all-in-one screens that bring the same construction to conference rooms.

What COB construction actually changes

Conventional fine-pitch LED mounts individual packaged LEDs onto the board. Chip-on-board seals the bare dies under resin, and three practical consequences follow.

The surface survives contact. It can be touched, knocked and cleaned — which matters more than it sounds in a lobby, a classroom or a studio where people stand within arm's reach of the screen.

There is no air gap for moisture or dust to enter.

The main fine-pitch failure mode disappears. At pitches around 1mm, conventional SMD panels are fragile enough that handling damage during installation is a real budget line. With no LED packages to shear off, COB removes it.

Two ways to buy Micro LED

As video wall panels — the CL V3 at 0.93mm and the KLCOB V2 and V3 ranges assemble into arrays of any size. These suit broadcast studios, control rooms, virtual production volumes and retail flagships, where the wall is built to the space.

As all-in-one screens — the X Series and X V2 arrive as complete fixed-size displays from 108" to 205", with screen, mount and processing in one part number. No array calculation, no separate processor, no cabinet-by-cabinet commissioning. Several sizes offer interactive touch.

For a standard conference room, the all-in-one route is faster to install and cheaper to commission. For anything custom-sized, the panels are the answer. See the full all-in-one range for sizes and aspect ratios.

The range

  • CL V3 — 0.93mm flagship COB video wall, where image quality leads and budget follows.
  • KLCOB V2 and V3 — professional Micro LED video wall panels for custom array installations.
  • X Series — all-in-one screens at 108", 136", 163", plus 151", 178" and 205" ultrawide, from 1.2mm, with interactive touch and 4K variants.
  • X V2 — 136" and 163" all-in-one Micro LED, the current generation.
  • XL Series — Micro LED image quality at a lower cost per square metre, for larger areas where the flagship would stop the project.

When sub-1mm is justified

The viewing distance rule — roughly a metre per millimetre of pitch — means a 0.93mm wall reads cleanly from under a metre. That is the specification for a space where people stand at the screen: a broadcast studio with a camera close in, a control room with operators at desks, a boardroom where the far end of the table is six feet away, a retail flagship where customers walk up and touch the wall.

Above about 2.5 metres of viewing distance the extra resolution stops being visible and the money is better spent elsewhere. Be honest about the nearest viewing position — it is the only number that justifies this class.

Broadcast and virtual production

Fine-pitch COB is what makes LED volumes work. On camera, moiré appears when the sensor's pixel grid interferes with the display's, and finer pitch pushes that interference out past the shooting distance. Refresh rate and scan characteristics matter as much as pitch here, so specify against the camera and the shutter, not just the room.

The rest of the system still applies

For panel installations: processing sized to the pixel count, power distribution, a mounting system matched to the substrate, and cabinet-by-cabinet commissioning so colour and brightness match. At this pitch the commissioning matters more, not less — inconsistency between cabinets is visible at the distances these walls are viewed from.

For standard-pitch installed walls see Absen indoor LED displays.

Creation Networks specifies fine-pitch LED against the actual nearest viewing position and, for broadcast work, against the camera. Design, structure, processing, installation and commissioning. CTS-D certified, nationwide, since 2006. Call 888-230-3661 or email sales@creationnetworks.net.

Micro LED FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions — Micro LED & COB Displays

Answers on Micro LED construction, when fine pitch is worth paying for, and choosing between video wall panels and all-in-one screens.

What is Micro LED?

Micro LED displays use very small LED dies mounted at high density, usually with chip-on-board construction where the dies are encapsulated in resin across the module face rather than mounted as individual packaged components. The result is a solid sealed surface at very fine pixel pitches.

What is the difference between COB and SMD LED?

SMD mounts individual packaged LEDs onto the board. COB encapsulates bare LED dies in a resin layer across the whole module face. COB produces a solid sealed surface that resists impact, moisture and cleaning, and at pitches around 1mm it largely eliminates the handling damage that affects conventional fine-pitch panels.

Can you touch a Micro LED screen?

Yes. The resin-encapsulated surface survives contact, cleaning and knocks, which is why COB is specified for lobbies, classrooms and retail where people stand within arm's reach. Conventional fine-pitch SMD panels are far more fragile at the same pitch.

Is Micro LED worth the extra cost?

Where viewers are close, yes — both for the image and for the durability. Above about 2.5 metres of viewing distance the extra resolution is not visible, and standard fine-pitch LED delivers the same perceived result for less.

Should I buy Micro LED panels or an all-in-one screen?

All-in-one screens like the X Series and X V2 arrive as a complete fixed-size display with mount and processing included, which is faster and cheaper to install for a standard conference room. Panels like the CL V3 and KLCOB build to any size but need separate processing, mounting and commissioning.

What pixel pitch do I need?

Roughly one metre of viewing distance per millimetre of pitch, measured from the closest position anyone will stand or sit. A 0.93mm wall reads cleanly from under a metre; a 1.5mm screen needs about a metre and a half.

What is the difference between the Absen X Series and X V2?

Both are all-in-one Micro LED screens. The X Series spans 108" to 205" including ultrawide and interactive touch options; the X V2 is the current generation at 136" and 163".

What is the Absen XL Series for?

The XL Series delivers Micro LED image quality at a lower cost per square metre than the flagship ranges. It suits projects covering a larger area where the flagship cost per panel would be prohibitive.

What LED is used for virtual production?

Fine-pitch COB, specified against the camera rather than the room. Moire appears when the camera sensor grid interferes with the display grid, so pitch, refresh rate and scan characteristics all have to suit the shooting distance and shutter speed.

Why is Micro LED used in broadcast studios?

Cameras sit close to the screen, so pitch has to be fine enough to avoid visible pixel structure and moire on camera. The sealed surface also survives the handling a working studio involves.

Does Creation Networks design and install Micro LED walls?

Yes. CTS-D certified, nationwide since 2006. We model the array against the nearest viewing position, confirm structure, specify processing and power, and commission so colour and brightness match across every cabinet.
