Absen creative LED displays are screens that stop behaving like a rectangle on a wall — transparent panels that mount behind glass, holographic screens under 2mm thin, and portable plug-and-play tiles that assemble without tools. The Jade Dragon (JD) transparent range and the PO portable series cover most of what this category is used for.
Transparent LED: the display disappears
A Jade Dragon panel sits against a shop window or a glass partition and is 90% or more transparent when dark. From inside, daylight and the view come through almost unobstructed. From outside, the content reads as if it is floating on the glass.
That is the whole proposition for retail frontage, showrooms, lobbies and anywhere a conventional screen would block a window the architect fought for. The JD-H holographic variant takes it further at over 90% transparency and under 2mm thick.
What transparency costs you
Transparency and brightness trade against each other, and so do transparency and pixel pitch. A 95% transparent panel has fewer LEDs per square metre than a solid one, so content needs to be designed for it — bold graphics, large type, high contrast. Photographic detail does not survive the translation.
Specify the content style at the same time as the panel. A transparent wall running the wrong kind of content looks broken rather than impressive, and that is a design decision nobody can fix after installation.
PO portable: plug-and-play LED
The PO series at 1.53mm and 1.86mm assembles without tools and runs from a standard outlet. It suits pop-ups, exhibitions, showrooms and corporate events where a wall goes up for a week and comes down again, and where nobody on site is an LED technician.
It is not a substitute for a staging panel on a touring rig — see rental and staging LED for that — but for a trade stand or a temporary lobby install it removes the crew requirement entirely.
Mounting is the part to plan
Transparent panels mount to glass, to a frame in front of glass, or suspended. Each of those carries different structural and access requirements, and glass mounting in particular has to be checked against the glazing — not every panel of glass will take the load or the fixing method.
Confirm the mounting condition before ordering, with the glazing specification if it is an existing building.
Where these get used
- Retail windows and storefront displays
- Showrooms, museums and visitor attractions
- Corporate lobbies with glass facades
- Exhibition stands and pop-up environments
- Hospitality and experiential installations
