Product Overview

The Poly Studio Base Kit G9 Plus for Microsoft Teams Rooms is a pre-configured Teams Rooms compute and control bundle pairing the HP Mini IP Conference PC with a Poly TC10 touch controller. This platform is end of sale and no longer in active production. The current replacement is the Poly Mini IP Conference PC G9, which delivers the same certified Teams Rooms compute role and pairs with the same TC10 controller. This page is kept as a reference for organizations still running G9 Plus rooms and planning a like-for-like refresh.

Product Description

HP Poly positioned the Studio Base Kit G9 Plus as the Teams Rooms foundation for customers building modular Poly rooms rather than deploying an all-in-one Studio X video bar. Rather than shipping a fixed camera and microphone set, the kit supplied only the two components every Teams Room needs regardless of size — the certified Windows compute appliance and the in-room touch controller — leaving the camera and audio to be matched to the space. That is why the same base kit could sit behind a small room bar and a large room with a dual-lens camera and ceiling microphones.

The kit shipped as part number A3LU8AA with the HP Mini IP Conference PC, a Poly TC10 controller, an AC adapter and power cable, an Ethernet cable, a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, desktop mini mounting accessories, a setup sheet, and a warranty card. The compute unit measures 177 x 175 x 34 mm at 1.42 kg with Intel UHD Graphics 770, a 256 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD, two SODIMM memory slots, and expansion headroom of one M.2 2230 and two M.2 2280 slots. The TC10 controller measures 260 x 184 x 64 mm at 1.27 kg and is powered over Ethernet at IEEE 802.3at class 0, so the table or wall position needs only a structured cable. Management ran through HP Poly Lens alongside the Microsoft Teams Admin Center.

For a refresh, the direct path is the Poly Mini IP Conference PC G9 plus a Poly TC10 touch controller, which together reproduce the compute-and-control combination this kit provided. Existing cameras and microphones generally carry over: the Poly Studio E70 dual-lens 4K camera and Poly Studio E60 PTZ camera remain current, as does the Poly Studio table microphone. Organizations moving away from a Windows compute appliance altogether should look at the Poly Studio G62 modular codec, which runs the room natively without a room PC. Contact Creation Networks for remaining stock, migration planning, or a quote on the replacement configuration.

Key Features

  • End of Sale Platform — This kit is discontinued and superseded by the Poly Mini IP Conference PC G9, which fills the same certified Teams Rooms compute role.
  • Compute and Control in One Order — Shipped the HP Mini IP Conference PC and Poly TC10 controller together, so a room needed only a camera and audio to complete.
  • Certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms — Provided the certified Windows compute platform for one-touch join and calendar integration.
  • Modular by Design — Left camera and microphone selection open so the same base kit served small rooms through large boardrooms.
  • PoE Touch Controller — The TC10 draws power over Ethernet at IEEE 802.3at class 0, so the table or wall position needed only a structured cable.
  • Serviceable Compute — Two SODIMM slots plus one M.2 2230 and two M.2 2280 slots left room to expand memory and storage rather than replace the unit.
  • Poly Lens Management — Managed through HP Poly Lens alongside the Microsoft Teams Admin Center for remote health monitoring and firmware.
  • Clean Migration Path — Existing Poly cameras, microphones, and TC10 controllers carry over to the replacement compute unit, limiting a refresh to the PC itself.

Typical Applications

  • Conference room

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Poly Studio Base Kit G9 Plus still available?
No. This platform is end of sale and no longer in active production. The replacement is the Poly Mini IP Conference PC G9, which provides the same certified Microsoft Teams Rooms compute role. Contact Creation Networks to check whether any remaining stock is available and to quote the replacement configuration.

What replaces this kit exactly?
The Poly Mini IP Conference PC G9 paired with a Poly TC10 touch controller reproduces the compute-and-control combination this base kit shipped. Ordering them as two line items rather than one bundle also lets you reuse an existing TC10 if the room already has one.

Do our existing cameras and microphones carry over?
Generally yes. Poly Studio E70 and E60 cameras, Poly IP table and ceiling microphones, and Poly Studio table microphones remain current products and continue to work with the replacement Teams Rooms compute unit, so a refresh is usually limited to the PC itself.

Was a Microsoft Teams Rooms license included?
No. The kit provided the certified hardware platform. Each room still requires a Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro or Basic license purchased separately through Microsoft or your licensing partner, and that requirement is unchanged on the replacement hardware.

Did the kit include a camera or room audio?
No. It supplied compute and control only. Camera and audio were selected to match the room, which is what made the same base kit suitable for small rooms through large boardrooms.

How were G9 Plus rooms managed?
Through HP Poly Lens cloud device management alongside the Microsoft Teams Admin Center, covering health monitoring, firmware, and remote troubleshooting. The replacement compute unit is managed the same way, so existing management practice carries forward.

What happens to warranty and support on installed units?
Units shipped with the Poly standard one-year limited warranty. End of sale does not immediately end support, but coverage and parts availability wind down over time on a discontinued platform — contact Creation Networks to confirm the current status for your serial numbers and to discuss Poly+ coverage during a phased refresh.

Should we replace the room PC or move to an appliance instead?
If the organization is committed to Teams Rooms on Windows, the Poly Mini IP Conference PC G9 is the direct swap. If the goal is to remove the room PC from the estate, the Poly Studio G62 modular codec runs the room natively and eliminates Windows patching and endpoint management from those spaces.
