Product Overview

The Poly Mini IP Conference PC G9 is a Microsoft Teams Rooms certified compute appliance built on the HP Mini G9 platform, shipping with Teams Rooms preinstalled on Windows 11 IoT Enterprise. A 13th-generation Intel Core i7-13700T with 16 GB of DDR5 and a 256 GB NVMe SSD gives it the headroom for large-room and dual-display workloads that strain lighter room PCs. It is the compute module only — pair it with a Poly TC10 touch controller, a camera, and room audio to complete a Teams Room. This unit is the current successor to the discontinued Poly Studio Base Kit G9 Plus.

Product Description

Organizations standardizing on Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows need a certified compute endpoint they can image, patch, and manage like any other corporate device, and that is what this unit is. Teams Rooms arrives preinstalled on Windows 11 IoT Enterprise, so a room reaches one-touch join and calendar integration without a build process, and the device then falls under normal IT lifecycle management rather than a separate AV workflow. The Core i7-13700T brings 16 cores and 24 threads at up to 4.9 GHz with 30 MB of L3 cache — specification that matters most in large rooms running dual displays, high-resolution camera streams, and content share at the same time.

Connectivity is built for a credenza or display-mount install. Video output covers two HDMI 2.0b ports, two DisplayPort 1.4a ports, and a USB-C port with DisplayPort, driving up to two displays at 4K UHD (3840 x 2160). The front panel carries one USB-C at 20 Gb/s and two USB-A at 10 Gb/s for the peripherals an AV tech touches during commissioning, while the rear provides one USB-C 10 Gb/s with DisplayPort, one further USB-C at 10 Gb/s, and three USB-A at 10 Gb/s for permanent camera and audio connections. Networking is a single RJ-45 at 2.5 Gb/s with PoE support, and Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth are fitted along with a spare M.2 2230 WLAN slot. The chassis is 6.9 x 6.8 x 1.3 in (17.7 x 17.5 x 3.4 cm) at 3.1 lb (1.42 kg), small enough to mount behind a display or inside a credenza.

Serviceability and security were designed in rather than bolted on. A second SODIMM slot and a spare M.2 2280 slot leave room to expand memory and storage without replacing the unit, which extends the useful life of a room standard across a refresh cycle. HP Sure Start Gen7 provides self-healing BIOS protection, and at least 50 percent of the plastic in the chassis is post-consumer recycled, which matters where procurement carries sustainability criteria. On the AV side it pairs with the Poly Studio E70 dual-lens 4K camera for large rooms or the Poly Studio E60 PTZ camera where optical zoom on a presenter is needed, with table pickup extended by a Poly Studio table microphone. Poly Studio R30 and EagleEye cameras, Poly Trio C60 audio, and Poly IP ceiling and tabletop microphones are also supported. Management runs through HP Poly Lens alongside the Microsoft Teams Admin Center. Extended HP Poly+ coverage is available — contact us for options and pricing.

Key Features

  • Teams Rooms Preinstalled — Ships certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows 11 IoT Enterprise, so a room reaches one-touch join and calendar integration without a build process.
  • Intel Core i7-13700T — 16 cores and 24 threads at up to 4.9 GHz with 30 MB L3 cache handle large-room dual-display workloads with high-resolution camera and content streams running together.
  • Dual 4K Display Output — Two HDMI 2.0b, two DisplayPort 1.4a, and a USB-C with DisplayPort drive up to two displays at 3840 x 2160 for people-plus-content layouts.
  • 2.5 Gb Ethernet with PoE — A single RJ-45 at 2.5 Gb/s with PoE support gives headroom over gigabit for rooms carrying multiple high-bitrate streams.
  • Field Expandable — A second SODIMM slot and a spare M.2 2280 slot allow memory and storage upgrades in place rather than a unit replacement at refresh.
  • Eight USB Ports — Front USB-C at 20 Gb/s plus two USB-A, and rear dual USB-C and triple USB-A at 10 Gb/s, separate commissioning access from permanent peripheral connections.
  • HP Sure Start Gen7 — Self-healing BIOS protection recovers the firmware layer automatically, which suits unattended devices in shared rooms.
  • Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth — Built-in wireless with a spare M.2 2230 WLAN slot supports rooms where a dedicated data drop is impractical.
  • Compact Mounting — A 6.9 x 6.8 x 1.3 in chassis at 3.1 lb mounts behind a display or inside a credenza and stays out of sight.
  • Dual Management Path — HP Poly Lens and the Microsoft Teams Admin Center together cover AV device health and Teams room configuration.
  • Recycled Chassis Materials — At least 50 percent of the plastic used in the chassis is post-consumer recycled, which supports sustainability criteria in procurement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this include a touch controller, camera, or microphone?
No. This is the compute appliance only. A complete Teams Room also needs a touch controller — most commonly the Poly TC10 — plus a camera and room audio. Tell Creation Networks the room dimensions and seating count and we can quote the full configuration.

Is this the replacement for the Poly Studio Base Kit G9 Plus?
Effectively yes. The G9 Plus base kit is discontinued. This unit paired with a Poly TC10 touch controller reproduces the same compute-and-control combination, and existing Poly cameras and microphones generally carry over unchanged.

Is a Microsoft Teams Rooms license included?
No. Teams Rooms is preinstalled on Windows 11 IoT Enterprise, but each room still requires a Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro or Basic license purchased separately through Microsoft or your licensing partner.

How many displays can it drive?
Two, at up to 4K UHD (3840 x 2160). It provides two HDMI 2.0b ports, two DisplayPort 1.4a ports, and a USB-C port with DisplayPort output, so most display and extender combinations can be accommodated without an adapter.

Can the memory or storage be upgraded later?
Yes. It ships with 16 GB across two SODIMM slots and a 256 GB NVMe SSD, with a spare M.2 2280 slot available and headroom to move to larger memory modules. That makes an in-place upgrade viable rather than a full unit replacement at refresh.

Which Poly cameras and microphones work with it?
Poly Studio E70, E60, and R30 cameras, EagleEye cameras, Poly Trio C60 audio, and Poly IP ceiling and tabletop microphones. Management runs through HP Poly Lens alongside the Microsoft Teams Admin Center.

How is it mounted and powered in a conference room?
The 6.9 x 6.8 x 1.3 in chassis at 3.1 lb mounts behind a display or inside a credenza using standard desktop mini mounting hardware. Networking is a single 2.5 Gb/s RJ-45 with PoE support, which reduces cabling at the mounting point in rooms with a suitable switch.

What warranty does it carry, and can support be extended?
It includes a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty. Extended HP Poly+ coverage is available — contact us for options and pricing.
