Product Overview
The Poly Studio E70 dual-lens 4K smart camera is a large-room conference camera that pairs with a Poly modular codec or a Microsoft Teams Rooms PC to cover spaces a single-sensor video bar cannot reach. Two 20 MP sensors work together — a 120° lens holding the full room and a 70° lens framing whoever is speaking — driven by Poly DirectorAI people, group, and speaker framing. Coverage extends to roughly 25 ft, which suits large conference rooms, boardrooms, and lecture spaces where participants sit well back from the display. Connect it over USB Type-C as a room PC camera, or over RJ-45 to a Poly G7500 codec or Poly Studio G62 for a full modular room system.
Product Description
Single-lens cameras force a compromise in a large room: frame wide enough to hold everyone and faces become too small to read, or zoom in on the speaker and the rest of the room disappears. The Studio E70 resolves that by carrying both lenses at once. The 120° horizontal field of view sensor maintains situational awareness of the whole table while the 70° sensor tracks and frames the active speaker, and DirectorAI decides which view the far end should see. Between the two sensors the camera provides 2 x 20 MP of capture with 7.3x digital zoom, and a DirectorAI perimeter setting lets an integrator exclude glass walls, doorways, and corridor traffic from the tracking zone — useful in open-plan offices and government spaces where background movement is constant.
The camera is designed to be installed once and left alone. It measures 321 x 102 x 89.1 mm at 907 g, ships with a wall mount kit in the box, and is finished in white for rooms where a black camera would read as a dark block above a light display. A motorized, integrated electronic privacy shutter closes the lens physically, which answers the question executives and legal teams tend to ask before a camera is approved for a boardroom. Power is flexible: either the supplied external adapter (100–240 VAC 50/60 Hz 1.5 A in, 12 VDC 5 A 60 W out) or Power over Ethernet at 802.3af, 15.4 W, Class 3, which lets a single structured cable carry both power and the codec connection to a wall or display mount.
Deployment paths are the reason to choose the E70 over a video bar. As a USB Type-C peripheral it acts as the camera for a Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms PC such as the Poly Mini IP Conference PC G9, leaving room audio to a separate certified DSP or microphone system. Over Ethernet it becomes the camera for a Poly modular codec — either the Poly G7500 4K UHD codec or the newer Poly Studio G62 modular codec — which handles call control, display output, and peripheral management. Add a Poly TC10 touch controller for one-touch join, and a Poly Studio table microphone where table pickup needs extending toward the far end of a long room. The camera is certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom and is managed through HP Poly Lens alongside the rest of the room.
Key Features
- Dual 20 MP Sensors — A 120° wide lens holds the full room while a 70° lens frames the active speaker, so the far end sees context and detail at the same time.
- DirectorAI Smart Framing — People framing, group framing, and speaker framing follow the conversation automatically without an operator behind the camera.
- DirectorAI Perimeter — Defines a tracking boundary so glass walls, doorways, and corridor traffic do not pull the camera off the meeting.
- 7.3x Digital Zoom — Reaches participants seated at the far end of a large conference table without an optical zoom mechanism to service.
- 25 ft Coverage — Suits large conference rooms, boardrooms, training rooms, and lecture spaces where a single-sensor video bar runs out of reach.
- Motorized Privacy Shutter — An integrated electronic shutter physically closes the lens, which satisfies privacy policy in boardrooms and government spaces.
- PoE or External Power — Runs on 802.3af PoE at 15.4 W Class 3 or the supplied 60 W adapter, so a wall-mounted camera can be served by one structured cable.
- USB-C and Ethernet — Connects as a USB camera to a Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms PC, or over RJ-45 to a Poly G7500 or Studio G62 modular codec.
- Wall Mount Included — Ships with a wall mount kit, Ethernet cable, and USB Type-A to Type-C cable so a standard install needs no additional hardware.
- Certified for Teams and Zoom — Carries Microsoft Teams and Zoom certification and is managed through HP Poly Lens with the rest of the room.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Studio E70 include microphones and speakers?
No. The E70 is a camera, not a video bar. Room audio comes from a separate system — Poly IP table or ceiling microphones on a Poly modular codec, or a certified USB audio device or DSP when the camera is used with a Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms PC. Budget for room audio as a separate line item.
Which codecs and room systems does it work with?
Over RJ-45 it operates as the camera for a Poly G7500 or Poly Studio G62 modular codec. Over USB Type-C it acts as a standard camera for a Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms PC. That flexibility lets one camera model serve both appliance-based and PC-based room standards across a campus.
How is the camera powered?
Either from the supplied external adapter (100–240 VAC input, 12 VDC 5 A 60 W output) or over Ethernet at 802.3af, 15.4 W, Class 3. PoE is usually the better choice for a wall or display mount because one structured cable carries both power and the codec connection to the mounting point.
What room size does the E70 cover?
Coverage runs to roughly 25 ft, which places it in large conference rooms, boardrooms, training rooms, and lecture spaces. In smaller rooms an all-in-one video bar is usually the more economical choice; the E70 earns its cost where audience distance or speaker tracking exceeds what a single sensor can do.
How is it mounted?
A wall mount kit ships in the box, and the 321 x 102 x 89.1 mm body at 907 g mounts above or below the room display. Confirm sightlines during design — mounting height and the DirectorAI perimeter setting together determine how cleanly the camera tracks in a room with glass walls or heavy corridor traffic.
Can the camera be locked out for privacy?
Yes. A motorized, integrated electronic privacy shutter physically closes the lens rather than relying on a software mute, which is normally what a boardroom or government space requires before a camera is approved for installation.
How is it managed across multiple rooms?
HP Poly Lens provides cloud device management for the camera alongside the codec and other Poly peripherals, covering health monitoring, firmware, and remote troubleshooting so an AV support team can maintain a fleet without visiting each room.
What warranty and support are included?
The camera carries the Poly standard one-year limited warranty. Poly+ service agreements are available separately for extended coverage, advance hardware replacement, and technical support; contact Creation Networks for the right coverage tier for your deployment.
