Product Overview
The Poly Studio G62 video conferencing system is a modular room codec for medium and large conference rooms where the camera, microphones, and displays are selected to fit the space rather than fixed in a single bar. It is certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom, compatible with Google Meet, and supports standards-based H.323 and SIP calling for existing video estates. A single PoE+ drop powers and networks the codec, which keeps credenza clutter and conduit runs to a minimum. For integrators standardizing large rooms across a campus, the G62 is the processing core that Poly Studio E60, E70, and E360 cameras and Poly IP microphones connect to over Ethernet.
Product Description
HP Poly built the Studio G62 as the successor generation of modular room codec, aimed at rooms that outgrow an all-in-one video bar. At 247.7 x 152.4 x 34.9 mm and 798 g, it mounts behind a display or inside a credenza and draws power over Ethernet from an IEEE 802.3at/bt class 4, 5, or 6 switch or PoE injector, so a room needs one cable rather than a separate power feed and data drop. The codec handles 4K video at 30 fps and 1080p at 60 fps across H.264, H.264 High Profile, H.265, H.264 SVC, and H.263, which gives an AV designer headroom on constrained circuits without dropping to a soft image. Rooms up to roughly 25 ft of coverage are in scope depending on the camera paired with it.
Connectivity is built for commercial integration work. The rear panel provides one HDMI 2.0 input and two HDMI 2.0 outputs for dual-display rooms, two USB Type-A ports at 5 Gbps, one USB Type-C, 3.5 mm line-level in and out for interfacing to a house DSP or assistive listening feed, a PoE+ LAN RJ-45, a second LLN RJ-45 for the peripheral network, and a Kensington lock slot. Networking covers IPv4 and IPv6 with Auto-MDIX at 100/1G/2.5G, and IP REST and CLI APIs let the codec be driven from a third-party control system alongside an in-room touch panel. Poly Lens provides cloud device management, so a support team can check room health, push firmware, and troubleshoot without a truck roll.
The G62 is the middle of a room build rather than the whole of it. Pair it with the Poly Studio E60 PTZ camera for rooms that need optical zoom on a presenter, or the Poly Studio E70 dual-lens 4K smart camera where DirectorAI speaker tracking across a wide table matters more. Add a Poly TC10 touch controller for one-touch join and in-room control, and extend table pickup with a Poly Studio table microphone. Where the install calls for a fixed plate instead of the magnetic mount, the Poly Studio G62 with mounting plate kit ships the bracket in the box. Federal and defense projects should specify the GSA/TAA compliant G62 instead of this commercial build.
Key Features
- Modular Room Codec — Separates processing from the camera and microphones so an integrator can match each component to the room instead of accepting a fixed all-in-one.
- 4K 30 fps Video — Delivers 4K at 30 fps and 1080p at 60 fps across H.264, H.264 High Profile, H.265, H.264 SVC, and H.263 for high-quality calls at a range of bandwidths.
- Single PoE+ Cable — Powers and networks the codec from an IEEE 802.3at/bt class 4, 5, or 6 switch or PoE injector, removing the need for a separate power feed at the mounting point.
- Certified for Teams and Zoom — Runs native Microsoft Teams and Zoom, works with Google Meet, and supports H.323 and SIP so one codec serves cloud and standards-based estates.
- Dual HDMI 2.0 Output — Drives two displays from one codec for people-plus-content layouts in medium and large conference rooms.
- Poly Peripheral Ecosystem — Connects over Ethernet to Poly Studio E60, E70, and E360 cameras, the Studio R30 USB video bar, and Poly IP table and ceiling microphones.
- Line-Level Audio I/O — Provides 3.5 mm line in and line out for interfacing the room to a house DSP, overflow audio, or an assistive listening system.
- Control System APIs — IP REST and CLI API support lets select third-party control systems operate the room alongside a Poly touch controller.
- Poly Lens Management — Cloud device management gives IT remote health monitoring, firmware control, and troubleshooting across a fleet of rooms.
- Compact Magnetic Mounting — A 247.7 x 152.4 x 34.9 mm chassis at 798 g mounts behind a display or in a credenza and keeps the equipment out of sight.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which cameras and microphones work with the Poly Studio G62?
HP Poly lists the Poly Studio E60 camera, Poly Studio E70 camera, Poly Studio E360 companion camera, Poly Studio R30 USB video bar, and Poly IP table and ceiling microphones as supported peripherals. These connect to the codec over Ethernet, which keeps peripheral cabling to structured cable rather than long proprietary runs.
How is the G62 powered and cabled in a conference room?
The codec is powered over Ethernet using a PoE+ source compatible with IEEE 802.3at/bt class 4, 5, or 6, either a switch port or an injector. One RJ-45 carries power and network to the codec, and a second LLN RJ-45 serves the peripheral network, so a typical install is one structured cable to the mounting point.
Can the G62 drive two displays?
Yes. Two HDMI 2.0 outputs support dual-display rooms so far-end participants and shared content occupy separate screens. One HDMI 2.0 input is available for a local source or a connected room PC.
Does the G62 need a touch controller?
A controller is not included with this SKU, and most commercial rooms add a Poly TC10 for one-touch join and in-room control. The codec also exposes IP REST and CLI APIs so select third-party control systems can operate the room in place of, or alongside, a Poly panel.
How does the G62 integrate with an existing AV system?
Standards-based H.323 and SIP calling lets the codec register to an existing video infrastructure, while 3.5 mm line in and line out interface the room to a house DSP, overflow audio, or assistive listening. IP REST and CLI APIs cover control system integration.
Is this build suitable for federal or government procurement?
This is the commercial build. Federal, defense, and other government buyers with Trade Agreements Act requirements should specify the GSA/TAA compliant G62, or the No Radio GSA/TAA build where wireless radios are not permitted in the facility.
How is a fleet of G62 rooms managed?
HP Poly Lens provides cloud device management for the codec and its Poly peripherals, covering health monitoring, firmware, and remote troubleshooting so an IT team can support rooms across sites without being on site.
What warranty and support are included?
The unit carries the Poly standard one-year limited warranty. Poly+ service agreements are available separately for extended coverage, advance hardware replacement, and technical support; contact Creation Networks for the right coverage tier for your deployment.
