Netflix, the global streaming entertainment leader, engaged Creation Networks to modernize and strengthen its Live Operations Center at its Los Gatos headquarters. The projects focused on delivering a stable, robust, and fully integrated audiovisual infrastructure for technical video control rooms. At the heart of the solution is the Q-SYS ecosystem serving as the unified control and audio processing platform, paired with Shure microphones for pristine audio capture. CHALLENGE
Netflix required a high-reliability AV system capable of supporting demanding live events workflows across technical video control rooms. Primary challenges included:
- Replacing an aging 8-display video wall while maintaining uninterrupted operations.
- Integrating a large-scale HDMI matrix switcher with multiple sources and destinations.
- Providing seamless HDMI connectivity to operator desk stations.
- Delivering centralized, intuitive control and monitoring for fast-paced live production environments.
- Ensuring system stability, redundancy, and ease of use under pressure with zero tolerance for downtime.
- Incorporating custom integration for third-party devices (including VITEC encoders/decoders) and providing long-term support and maintenance.

- Deployment of a Lightware 16x16 HDMI 2.0 matrix switcher for comprehensive signal routing.
- HDMI transmitter runs to four operator desk stations.
- New AV equipment rack with clean cable management and power distribution.
- Q-SYS core programming for video routing, device monitoring, and custom touch panel control interfaces.
- Development of a custom VITEC Q-SYS plugin for seamless encoder/decoder control and stream routing.
