During the current downtime and facility closure, BADM sought to take advantage of the opportunity to engineer two new audio-visual experiences for the venue. While no two projects are identical, the key factors for success remain consistent: effective communication, comprehensive understanding of the full scope, and precise reporting.

The Bay Area Discovery Museum required multiple AV-equipped rooms, ranging from simple phone rooms to classrooms and an interactive exhibit. We collaborated with them, integrating both existing and new equipment to align with their budgetary constraints and overall vision.

We collaborated with Davis Keith, Senior Associate at the Bay Area design consulting firm Charles Salter Inc., alongside Creation Networks, Salter, and the BADM IT team to establish a shared vision for the Interactive Exhibit Audiovisual project. This initiative introduced unique interactive classroom experiences, with constant communication between all stakeholders being critical to its success. In the main AV exhibit, a downward-facing projector was installed to display interactive floor images for children, which were then captured by a downward-facing camera and projected onto the wall via a second projector. An Extron control system was implemented to ensure ease of use and operational simplicity. Achieving this vision was a challenging endeavor that required close collaboration and strong partnerships among all parties to deliver the desired result.
