Product Overview

The Symetrix 80-0168 xIO Stage 4x4 is a rugged 4-input, 4-output Dante stage box that converts 4 balanced analog inputs and 4 balanced analog outputs to and from Dante network audio, designed for deployment at stage, podium, lectern, or remote-location positions in commercial AV installations. With XLR connectors and a more robust physical design than the standard rack-mount xIO variants, the xIO Stage 4x4 is intended for environments where the I/O endpoint is positioned at the point of use—away from the equipment rack—and must withstand the handling and placement demands of live event, presentation, or house of worship production environments.

Product Description

The xIO Stage 4x4 provides four balanced analog inputs on XLR connectors for microphones or line-level sources at a stage or podium position, and four balanced analog outputs for monitor sends, local amplification, or confidence monitor feeds at the same location. All eight channels—four transmit, four receive—are transported bidirectionally over a single Ethernet connection to a Dante network, where they are routed using Dante Controller to a central Symetrix Radius NX Dante DSP or any other Dante-enabled device. XLR connectors provide industry-standard connectivity familiar to audio technicians working at live event or installed AV positions. The rugged form factor withstands placement on a stage floor, presenter table, or temporary installation point more durably than standard rack-mount endpoints. The xIO Stage 4x4 integrates within the same Dante network domain as Symetrix xIn 12, xOut 12, and xIO 4x4 endpoints, enabling comprehensive distributed I/O designs across a facility from a single centralized DSP.

Key Features

  • 4 Balanced XLR Analog Inputs — Industry-standard XLR connectivity accepts microphones and line-level sources at stage, podium, or remote presenter positions.
  • 4 Balanced XLR Analog Outputs — Delivers monitor sends, local reinforcement feeds, or confidence monitor outputs at the stage or remote position via standard XLR connectors.
  • Bidirectional Dante Connectivity — All 4 inputs and 4 outputs are transported over a single Ethernet connection as Dante network audio, eliminating long analog cable runs between the stage and equipment room.
  • Rugged Stage-Ready Form Factor — More robust physical construction compared to rack-mount xIO variants, suitable for deployment at stage floor, lectern, or temporary installation positions.
  • Standard Dante Device Operation — Managed through Dante Controller; works with any Dante-enabled DSP or audio device on the same network domain.
  • Complements Symetrix xIn/xOut Ecosystem — Integrates seamlessly with Symetrix xIn 12, xOut 12, and xIO 4x4 endpoints within a distributed Dante I/O architecture.

Typical Applications

  • Stage and podium I/O for house of worship production systems
  • Lectern mic and monitor feeds in auditorium and conference center installations
  • Dante stage box for corporate event and boardroom presentation systems
  • Remote I/O point in distributed Dante AV infrastructure
  • Presenter table audio connectivity in all-hands and training rooms
  • Broadcast studio remote talent position I/O

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does the xIO Stage 4x4 differ from the standard xIO 4x4 rack-mount unit?

A: Both units provide 4x4 bidirectional Dante I/O. The xIO Stage 4x4 uses XLR connectors and a rugged form factor suited for stage, podium, or temporary deployment. The xIO 4x4 uses Phoenix terminal connectors and is designed for permanent rack-mount installation.

Q: Does the xIO Stage 4x4 require Symetrix DSPs, or is it compatible with other Dante systems?

A: It is a standard Dante device and works with any Dante-enabled product from any manufacturer. Symetrix Radius NX Dante DSPs are a natural pairing, but other Dante systems are equally compatible.

Q: How many Ethernet cables are required to connect the xIO Stage 4x4?

A: A single Ethernet cable carries all 8 Dante audio channels (4 transmit + 4 receive) bidirectionally, in addition to device management traffic. Only one network connection is needed at the stage position.

Q: What warranty is provided?

A: Symetrix provides a five-year limited warranty. Contact Creation Networks for warranty registration and authorized service support.
