What is the RDL SF-NP100A?
The RDL SF-NP100A is a Dante (or AES67) network amplifier that converts one network audio channel to a 100 W RMS, 70 V or 100 V constant-voltage output. It receives four network channels: one drives the amplifier and three are converted to RDL Format-A to feed additional amplifiers or receivers. Plenum rated to UL 2043 with an included 48 Vdc supply and remote level control, it is a compact Dante 70V amplifier for paging and background music zones.
How does it work?
The amplifier delivers 100 W for a network level of 0 dBFS, with Dante sample rates of 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz or 96 kHz at 24 bits. The other three Dante channels feed Format-A pairs A, B and C on an RJ45 output, so one network drop can also serve other amplifiers or Format-A receivers. Input gain is set with a single-turn rear-panel potentiometer and a dual-LED VU meter calibrated to 10 dB below maximum output. An internal VCA sets the amplifier level, controlled from a RDL D-RLC10KM remote level control on the REMOTE CONTROL RJ45 jack, an external 10 kΩ pot or a 0 to 10 Vdc control voltage. A selectable, aurally transparent compressor adds up to 15 dB of headroom, and thermal and short-circuit protection guard the output stage. The high-efficiency Class D design produces minimal heat at any program level. A green front-panel LED confirms Dante sync. It runs from the included external 48 Vdc supply in an all-metal SysFlex enclosure for free-standing, surface or rack mounting. Expand the zone with the RDL SF-MA100A mixer amplifier or SF-PA100A amplifier on the Format-A output, or use Format-A receivers such as the D-TPR1A and SF-TPR24A.
