What is the RDL SF-PA100A?
The RDL SF-PA100A is a SYSFLEX 100 W constant-voltage amplifier that receives RDL Format-A twisted-pair audio and drives 70 V or 100 V speaker lines. A selector chooses Format-A Pair A, B or C, and a loop-through jack passes all three pairs to other amplifiers or receivers. It is plenum rated per UL 2043 and ships with its 48 Vdc power supply.
How does it work?
The SF-PA100A receives three audio channels on an RJ45 Format-A connector and feeds the selected pair to the amplifier. At the normal gain setting it delivers 100 W for an audio level of +22 dBu. The three Format-A pairs feed through to the LOOP OUT jack for additional amplifiers or Format-A receivers. Input gain is set with a rear-panel potentiometer and a dual-LED VU meter calibrated 10 dB below maximum output. An internal VCA sets the output level, and the REMOTE CONTROL RJ45 jack accepts an RDL D-RLC10KM-type remote, an external 10 kΩ potentiometer or 0 to 10 Vdc. A selectable compressor adds up to 15 dB of headroom to the amplifier input using automatically adjusting attack and release. The Class D output stage runs cool and includes thermal and short-circuit protection. The included supply accepts 100 to 240 Vac and provides 48 Vdc. Format-A sources include Dante interfaces such as the RDL RU-NFD and wall-plate senders such as the RDL DS-TPS2A.
