What is the RDL SF-MA100A?
The RDL SF-MA100A is a 100 W RMS 70 V or 100 V mixer amplifier that mixes three audio channels received on an RDL Format-A RJ45 connector. Three operating modes cover local mixing, remote master level control and remote control of each mixer input through RDL wall controls. A high-efficiency Class D output, built-in compressor, UL 2043 plenum rating and included 48 Vdc supply make it a compact constant-voltage mixer amplifier for commercial paging and background music.
How does it work?
Format-A pairs A, B and C arrive on one RJ45 jack and are mixed by three rear-panel potentiometers or, in remote modes, by an RDL wall control. At the normal gain setting the amplifier delivers 100 W into a 70 V or 100 V constant-voltage line for a +22 dBu input. All three Format-A pairs, plus power, pass through to a LOOP OUT jack to feed additional amplifiers or Format-A receivers. Input gain is set with single-turn rear-panel pots and a dual-LED VU meter calibrated to 10 dB below maximum output. Mode 2 uses a RDL D-RLC10KM remote level control for master level, and Mode 3 uses a D-RC3 remote mixing control to adjust each input, with the rear pots setting the maximum gain; external 10 kΩ pots or 0 to 10 Vdc control voltages also work. Internal VCAs keep remote level adjustment noise-free over the long term. A selectable, aurally transparent compressor adds up to 15 dB of headroom at the amplifier input, and thermal and short-circuit protection guard the output stage. The SF-MA100A operates from an included external 48 Vdc power supply (100 to 240 Vac) in an all-metal SysFlex enclosure for free-standing, surface or rack mounting. Format-A senders such as the RDL D-TPS2AM feed it, and the SF-PA100A and SF-NP100A amplifiers extend the same system; SysFlex mounting options include the SF-RA1 rack adapter and SF-UCB2 under-counter brackets.
