Product Overview
The Poly Studio X70 video bar is an all-in-one 4K room system for large conference rooms and boardrooms, combining a dual-lens 20MP camera, two-way stereo speakers, and a four-microphone array in a single wall-mounted unit. Certified for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet, it runs cloud video apps on the device itself, so a large-room video conferencing installation needs no separate codec and no room PC. Poly DirectorAI switches between the 120° wide lens and the 70° narrow lens to frame the group or track the active speaker without an operator. For integrators standardizing large rooms across a campus, the X70 replaces a codec, camera, amplifier, and speaker stack with one device, one network drop, and one power feed.
Product Description
HP Poly built the Studio X70 for rooms up to roughly 30 ft. by 20 ft., where a medium-room bar runs out of camera reach and audio coverage but a modular codec platform is more infrastructure than the space justifies. The camera system uses two 20 MP sensors capturing 2160p 4K UHD: a 120° horizontal wide lens for the full table and a 70° horizontal narrow lens for close framing, with 7.3x digital zoom. DirectorAI smart camera technology handles people framing, group framing, and speaker framing, cutting between the two lenses as the conversation moves rather than digitally cropping a single sensor. A motorized electronic privacy shutter closes the optics when the room is idle, which matters in executive boardrooms and regulated spaces.
Audio is the reason many integrators specify the X70 over a smaller bar. Two-way stereo speakers with aluminum cone tweeters and advanced bass ports deliver 2 x 20 W RMS on the mid drivers and 2 x 15 W RMS on the tweeters — enough output to cover a long boardroom without an external amplifier or DSP. Two MEMS microphones and two second-order gradient microphones pick up to 25 ft. down the table, and Poly NoiseBlockAI and Acoustic Fence suppress keyboard noise, HVAC rumble, and voices originating outside the room instead of simply gating the channel. For rooms with unusually long tables, a Poly Studio expansion table microphone extends pickup toward the far end.
Connectivity is built for commercial deployment: two HDMI 1.4 outputs for dual-display rooms, one HDMI 1.4 input for a local source or room PC, one USB Type-C and two USB Type-A ports at 5 Gbps, two RJ-45 network interfaces, and analog audio in and out. The bar supports two displays, USB device mode for a connected laptop, and wired or wireless content sharing through Apple AirPlay, Miracast, digital whiteboarding, or the HDMI input. This SKU ships as the bar only; add a Poly TC10 touch controller for a 10.1-inch in-room console or a Poly TC8 touch controller where an 8-inch panel fits the table better. Display installs use the Poly VESA mount for Studio X70; the unit also ships with a wall mount kit, so most large-room installations complete in a single mounting pass. Poly Lens provides cloud monitoring, firmware control, and room analytics across the fleet.
Key Features
- Dual-Lens 20MP Camera System — Two 4K sensors, one at 120° horizontal and one at 70° horizontal, cover both the full room and the active speaker without a mechanical PTZ head.
- Poly DirectorAI Framing — People framing, group framing, and speaker framing switch between the wide and narrow lenses automatically so no camera operator is required.
- 7.3x Digital Zoom — Reaches the far end of a 30-foot room while keeping participants legible to remote attendees.
- High-Output Stereo Speakers — Two-way drivers with aluminum cone tweeters and bass ports fill a large boardroom without an external amplifier or DSP.
- Four-Microphone Array — Two MEMS and two second-order gradient microphones pick up to 25 ft. down the conference table.
- NoiseBlockAI and Acoustic Fence — Suppress keyboard noise, HVAC, and side conversations from outside the room rather than gating the whole channel.
- Built-In Codec, No Room PC — Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet run natively on the bar, and H.323 and SIP support covers standards-based estates.
- Dual-Display Output — Two HDMI outputs drive separate people and content screens in large rooms; USB device mode lets the bar serve a connected laptop.
- Motorized Privacy Shutter — Physically closes the camera optics when the room is idle for executive and regulated spaces.
- Poly Lens Cloud Management — Gives IT centralized monitoring, firmware control, and room analytics across every deployed bar.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Poly Studio X70 need a touch controller?
No. The bar runs Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet on its own built-in codec and can be driven without a controller. Most commercial deployments still add a Poly TC8 or TC10 for one-touch join and in-room control, and both are sold separately from this bar-only SKU.
What room size does the X70 cover?
HP Poly rates the Studio X70 for large rooms up to approximately 30 ft. by 20 ft. Microphone pickup reaches 25 ft. down the table; beyond that, add a Poly Studio expansion table microphone to extend coverage rather than moving to a second bar.
How is the X70 mounted in a conference room?
The unit ships with a wall mount kit for mounting below or above a display. For VESA-pattern installs on a display or mobile cart, use the Poly VESA mount for Studio X70. Table or credenza placement is handled with the Poly Studio X70/X72/V72 table stand.
Can the X70 drive two displays?
Yes. Two HDMI outputs support a dual-display room so far-end participants and shared content occupy separate screens. One HDMI input accepts a local source or a connected room PC.
How does the X70 integrate with an existing AV system?
USB Type-C and Type-A connections let the bar operate as a USB peripheral for a room PC, so an existing PC-based room build can reuse it. Analog audio in and out allow connection to an installed sound system, and standards-based H.323 and SIP support covers legacy video estates.
How is a fleet of X70 bars managed?
Poly Lens provides cloud monitoring, firmware distribution, configuration, and room usage analytics. Integrators typically enroll each bar at commissioning so IT can manage every large room from one console.
What warranty and support are included?
The unit carries the Poly standard one-year limited warranty. Poly+ service agreements are available separately for extended coverage, advance hardware replacement, and technical support; contact Creation Networks for the coverage tier that matches your deployment.
