Product Overview

The Poly G7500 modular video conferencing codec is a 4K UHD room platform for medium and large conference rooms where camera, microphone, and display requirements vary by space. Unlike an all-in-one video bar, the G7500 separates the codec from the peripherals, so an integrator can pair it with an EagleEye IV PTZ camera, an EagleEye Producer, or a Poly Studio E70 and scale microphone coverage with up to three IP microphone arrays. It is certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom and also runs standards-based H.323 and SIP calling, which keeps one hardware standard usable across mixed platform estates. This base unit is the codec configuration, sold with a cable bundle and remote control rather than a fixed camera.

Product Description

HP Poly built the G7500 as the modular flagship of the Poly room codec line. The unit is a 13.75 in. by 5.5 in. chassis that sits on a shelf, in a credenza, or behind the display, and it drives two HDMI 2.0 outputs so a room can show far-end participants on one screen and shared content on the other. Video encode and decode use H.264 AVC, H.264 High Profile, and H.265, with people video up to 4K at 30 fps and content input and output up to UHD 3840 x 2160 at 5 to 60 fps. For AV system designers, the important detail is that the codec accepts up to three HDMI or USB camera inputs with source switching from the touch interface, so a boardroom with a presenter camera and an audience camera does not need an external matrix switcher.

Audio is where the G7500 earns its place in difficult rooms. Poly NoiseBlockAI suppresses non-speech noise such as keyboard clatter and HVAC rumble, and Poly Acoustic Fence keeps voices from outside the intended pickup zone off the call, which matters in open-plan floors and glass-walled rooms. The codec supports up to three IP microphone arrays with roughly 20 ft. of pickup range each, cabled over standard Ethernet with PoE+ from three dedicated 10/100/1G LAN ports on the codec itself. That removes the need for a separate mic power injector and lets the microphone run reach the length of a long conference table. Audio codec support spans Siren 22, G.719, Siren 14, G.722, G.722.1, G.722.1C, G.711, G.728, and G.729A. A full specification breakdown is available in the Poly G7500 data sheet.

Deployment and integration were designed around commercial installs. The codec carries 3x USB 3.0, 1x USB-C, and an RS-232 serial port for third-party control system integration, plus a REST API for room automation. Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac with MIMO and Bluetooth 5.0 are built in for rooms without a spare data drop, and media encryption uses AES-128 and AES-256 with TLS 1.0 through 1.2 for management sessions. Fleet monitoring, firmware, and configuration run through HP Poly Lens. Most rooms add a Poly TC8 touch controller or the larger Poly TC10 touch controller for one-touch join, and pair the codec with a Poly Studio E70 dual-lens camera when the room is large enough to need automatic speaker framing.

Key Features

  • Modular Room Architecture — Separating the codec from the camera and microphones lets one platform serve huddle-adjacent rooms and large boardrooms with different peripheral choices.
  • 4K UHD Video Processing — H.264 AVC, H.264 High Profile, and H.265 encode and decode deliver people video up to 4K at 30 fps and content up to 3840 x 2160.
  • Dual HDMI Output — Two HDMI outputs drive separate people and content displays without an external scaler or switcher.
  • Three Camera Inputs — Up to three HDMI or USB cameras connect directly with switching from the touch interface, covering presenter and audience angles in one room.
  • PoE+ IP Microphone Ports — Three dedicated 10/100/1G LAN ports power and connect up to three IP microphone arrays over standard Ethernet cabling.
  • Poly NoiseBlockAI and Acoustic Fence — Non-speech noise and out-of-zone voices are suppressed rather than gated, which keeps far-end audio intelligible in open-plan buildings.
  • Certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom — Native room apps run on the codec, and standards-based H.323 and SIP calling covers everything else.
  • Control System Integration — RS-232, USB-C, and a REST API allow the codec to be driven from a third-party control processor in an integrated AV system.
  • Enterprise Security — AES-128 and AES-256 media encryption, H.235.6, and TLS 1.0 through 1.2 support meet standard enterprise network requirements.
  • Poly Lens Management — Cloud monitoring, firmware, and configuration scale across a room fleet without touching each codec individually.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the G7500 base unit include a camera or microphone?
No. This SKU is the codec base unit with a cable bundle and remote control. Cameras, IP microphone arrays, and touch controllers are selected separately to match the room, which is the point of a modular platform. Bundled configurations that include a camera, controller, and IP table microphone are available as separate part numbers.

Which cameras work with the Poly G7500?
The codec supports Poly EagleEye IV, EagleEye Producer, and the Poly Studio E70. It accepts up to three HDMI or USB camera inputs, with switching handled from the touch interface, so a room can run a presenter camera and an audience camera on the same codec.

How are microphones cabled and powered in a G7500 room?
The codec has three dedicated 10/100/1G LAN ports that supply PoE+ to IP microphone arrays over standard Ethernet. Each array covers roughly 20 ft. of pickup range, so a long conference table is handled by adding arrays rather than by running analog mic lines to a separate DSP.

Can the G7500 drive two displays?
Yes. Two HDMI outputs support a dual-display room so far-end video and shared content occupy separate screens. One HDMI input is available for a local source such as a room PC or laptop.

How does the G7500 integrate with a third-party control system?
An RS-232 serial port and a REST API allow a control processor to drive call control, source selection, and room state. USB-C and USB 3.0 ports support USB device mode and peripheral connections, so the codec can also present itself as a USB camera and audio device to a connected room PC.

What video platforms does the codec support?
It is certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom, and runs native room apps including Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams, RingCentral, GoToRoom, Dialpad, and BlueJeans. Standards-based H.323 and SIP calling at up to 6 Mbps covers interoperability with existing video infrastructure.

How is a fleet of G7500 systems managed?
HP Poly Lens provides cloud monitoring, firmware distribution, and configuration management across rooms. Media encryption uses AES-128 and AES-256 with TLS 1.0 through 1.2 for management sessions, which typically satisfies enterprise network security review.

What warranty and support coverage apply?
The codec carries a one-year return-to-factory parts and labor warranty. Extended Poly+ service coverage with advance hardware replacement is available separately; contact Creation Networks for the coverage tier that matches your deployment size and uptime requirement.
