How Ultra Reflex Works: Screen-Channel Sound for Direct View Displays

Ultra Reflex exists to solve a specific problem: on a traditional projection screen, screen-channel loudspeakers sit directly behind the acoustically transmissive fabric, so sound and image originate from the same place. A direct view ("emissive") display — large-scale LED walls like Sony's Crystal LED — is solid. There's no way to put a speaker behind it, and mounting speakers around the perimeter instead compromises coverage uniformity, image localization, and overall fidelity.

Meyer Sound's patent-pending solution places a high-frequency component that fires toward the screen and reflects off its solid surface into the audience, paired with a direct-radiating low-frequency component that projects outward from the screen area.
