The Meyer Sound Galileo GALAXY 408 is a compact networked loudspeaker management processor built to drive and align Meyer Sound line array and point-source systems in a single-space rack footprint. It provides 8 inputs and 8 outputs with 24-bit/96 kHz processing, Milan-certified AVB networking, and Meyer Sound's full processing toolkit — parametric EQ, U-Shaping EQ, delay matrix, and Product Integration for matching multiple loudspeaker models in one coherent system. The GALAXY 408 suits smaller deployments, monitor systems, or supplemental zones within a larger networked GALAXY system.

Housed in a 1RU, 19-inch rack-mount chassis, the GALAXY 408 shares its processing architecture with the larger GALAXY 816 and 816-AES3, so systems mixing multiple GALAXY models on the same Milan network stay compatible. Control runs through Compass Control Software on Mac or PC, the Compass Go iPad app, or Spacemap Go for spatial audio design. Input processing covers gain, delay, and 5-band parametric/U-Shaping EQ; output processing adds polarity reversal, 10-band parametric EQ, Low-Mid Beam Control, and atmospheric correction. Two SIM bus ports allow direct connection to Meyer Sound's SIM audio analyzer for on-site measurement and verification. Delay Integration settings let a designer acoustically match different Meyer Sound loudspeaker models — useful when combining downfill, midfill, and main hangs from different product lines in the same system.

Key Features

  • 8x8 I/O — 8 audio inputs (analog or AES/EBU, selectable in pairs) and 8 analog outputs in a compact 1RU chassis.
  • Milan-certified AVB networking — all audio and control data pass over a single network cable, interoperable with other Milan-certified devices regardless of manufacturer.
  • 24-bit/96kHz processing — FPGA-based architecture with up to 64-bit internal resolution for a low noise floor and wide dynamic range.
  • Full EQ and delay toolset — 5-band parametric and U-Shaping EQ on inputs, 10-band parametric EQ plus Low-Mid Beam Control on outputs.
  • Built-in summing and delay matrix — assign gain and delay at every routing cross point, letting a single loudspeaker serve multiple independently processed inputs.
  • Product Integration — Delay Integration settings acoustically match different Meyer Sound loudspeaker models combined in the same array.
  • SIM audio analyzer connectivity — two SIM bus ports for direct on-site measurement without an external interface.
  • Third-party control — network-enabled controllers such as Crestron or AMX, plus OSC and text command support.

Typical Applications

Houses of worship, corporate auditoriums, performing arts venues, touring and rental sound systems, broadcast studios, themed entertainment and immersive venues, multi-purpose rooms.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the GALAXY 408 and GALAXY 816?
The GALAXY 408 provides 8 inputs and 8 outputs in a 1RU chassis, while the GALAXY 816 doubles the output count to 16 in a 2RU chassis. Both share the same processing architecture and can run on the same Milan network.

Can a GALAXY 408 drive a system alongside GALAXY 816 units?
Yes. All GALAXY processors are Milan-certified and interoperate on the same AVB network, so a system can mix 408, 816, and 816-AES3 units as channel count requires.

What loudspeakers does the GALAXY 408 support?
The GALAXY 408 drives and aligns Meyer Sound's full range of self-powered loudspeaker systems, including line arrays and point-source loudspeakers, using Delay Integration to acoustically match different models in the same system.

Does the GALAXY 408 require a separate control computer at all times?
No. Compass Control Software runs the system during design and setup, but the GALAXY 408 operates independently once configured; the Compass Go iPad app or third-party controllers like Crestron can also access basic control.

Do you provide system design and commissioning for Galileo GALAXY processors?
Yes. Our engineers handle Meyer Sound system design, GALAXY configuration, and commissioning as part of a complete audio system project.
