The Meyer Sound X-800C is a high-power, self-powered cinema subwoofer that delivers very low frequencies with ample headroom for the low-frequency effects (LFE) channel and screen channel low-end support. Built around two 18-inch drivers, it reproduces clean, punchy transients down to 20 Hz with a 133 dB linear peak SPL. Excellent phase coherence allows smooth transitions from the screen channels to the LFE channel. It is intended for motion picture theaters, residential cinema, and production and postproduction facilities requiring extended bandwidth and very low distortion.

Product Description

The X-800C houses two Meyer Sound long-excursion, high-efficiency 18-inch drivers in an optimally tuned, vented cabinet. Its output rolls off well below 250 Hz to avoid comb-filtering effects when multiple X-800C subwoofers are arrayed. An integral two-channel class AB/H amplifier with complementary MOSFET output stages supplies 1240 W, with TruPower limiting on each channel to maximize reliability and minimize power compression. The Intelligent AC power supply provides automatic voltage selection, EMI filtering, soft turn-on, and surge suppression, while onboard processing applies phase and frequency correction. It pairs with ACHERON screen channels such as the ACHERON-100 and ACHERON-80, and complements the more compact X-400C cinema subwoofer. The optional RMS remote monitoring system reports loudspeaker parameters to a computer running Compass control software.
