Product Overview
CS-CAM-RVPTZ-L= is the spare service unit for the Cisco Room Vision PTZ camera in Arctic White. It is ordered when a camera has to be replaced in a room that is already built, or when a second camera is added to a room that already has a codec, and the hardware is identical to the standard CS-CAM-RVPTZ-L part. The camera brings 12x optical zoom, AI presenter tracking and a single PoE+ Ethernet connection carrying power, 4K video and camera control. Compliance model TTC8-13.
Product Description
The trailing equals sign is the only thing that separates this from the standard part. Cisco uses it to mark a spare or standalone service unit, meaning a part ordered outside a system configuration. In practice that covers two situations an estimator meets often: a failed camera in a room under support, and a second camera added to an existing room where the codec and the network are already in place. Ordering the spare part avoids the system-level configuration rules attached to the standard SKU.
Because this part usually lands in a room that already exists, the install questions are the ones about the existing infrastructure. The camera needs one Cat5e run carrying PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at), which supplies power, 4K video and camera control on that single cable, so a replacement normally reuses the cable already pulled. It draws 12 W in normal operation and 3 W in standby. If the serving switch port is non-PoE or 802.3af only, add a CS-PWR-INJ-30W injector at the head end rather than replacing the switch. Specify plenum-rated Cat5e where the run crosses a plenum. An HDMI 2.0 output is on the camera where a direct connection is preferred, and the camera can also serve an RTSP stream.

All mounting options are ordered separately from the main unit, so a spare camera does not arrive with a bracket even when it is replacing one that had one. Where the existing bracket is being reused this does not matter; where the camera is a second unit, the Arctic White choices are CS-CAM-RVPTZ-WBKL for a wall-only Ethernet installation and CS-CAM-RVPTZ-CBKL for a ceiling or wall installation that may also carry HDMI. The camera is 165 x 196 x 176 mm and 2.3 kg. Check that the host device is on RoomOS 11.31 or later before the part ships, because an older room may need a software update before the replacement camera will register.
Key Features
- Identical to the Standard Part — Hardware, optics and capability match CS-CAM-RVPTZ-L; only the ordering designation differs.
- 60x Total Zoom — 12x optical combined with 5x digital.
- AI Presenter Tracking — Head detection on the camera follows an active presenter without an operator.
- Single-Cable Deployment — One PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) RJ-45 run carries power, video and control, so a replacement reuses the existing cable.
- Wide Mechanical Range — Pan covers plus or minus 170 degrees and tilt covers -25 to +90 degrees, both at 0.1 to 100 degrees per second.
- Low Power Draw — 12 W in normal operation and 3 W in standby.
- HDMI 2.0 and RTSP — A direct connection and a direct stream are both available.
- Arctic White Finish — Matches an existing Arctic White installation.
Typical Applications
- Warranty or out-of-warranty camera replacement in a room already in service
- Adding a second camera to a room that already has a codec and cabling
- Spares held on the shelf for rooms under a service level commitment
- Standalone camera purchases outside a Cisco system configuration
- White-ceiling installations matching existing Arctic White hardware

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between this and the standard CS-CAM-RVPTZ-L?
- None in hardware. The trailing equals sign is Cisco's designator for a spare or standalone service unit, ordered outside a system configuration. Use this part for a replacement camera or a second camera in an existing room. The standard part is CS-CAM-RVPTZ-L, and both sit alongside the mounts, injectors and host devices in the Cisco room device catalog.
- Does it need a separate HDMI run?
- No. Power, video and camera control all travel over one PoE+ Cat5e run, which is why a replacement can normally reuse the cable already in the wall. HDMI 2.0 is available if a direct connection suits the installation better.
- Does a bracket come with it?
- No. All mounting options are ordered separately from the main unit. Reuse the existing bracket on a straight replacement, or order CS-CAM-RVPTZ-WBKL or CS-CAM-RVPTZ-CBKL for a new position.
- What software is required?
- RoomOS 11.31 or later on the connected device. On an older room this may mean a software update before the camera will register.
- How does it compare to the Cisco PTZ 4K Camera?
- Reach against ease of deployment. The PTZ 4K offers 20x optical inside a 240x range and connects over HDMI with Visca over IP control. The Room Vision PTZ offers 12x optical inside a 60x range but runs on one Ethernet cable with presenter tracking built in. Specify PTZ 4K for a deep auditorium, Room Vision PTZ for a clean retrofit.
- Is the Carbon Black spare available?
- Yes, as CS-CAM-RVPTZ-C=.
- Is SmartNet available?
- Yes. Cisco SMARTnet coverage is available through Creation Networks.
