Product Overview
CS-PTZ4K-CLNGMNT is the Cisco ceiling mounting bracket for the Cisco Webex PTZ 4K Camera (CS-CAM-PTZ4K=). It suspends the camera from the ceiling, which is the usual position in an auditorium or lecture theatre where a wall position would put the camera behind the audience or too low to clear sightlines. It carries the camera's 3.75 lb (1.7 kg) mass and is ordered separately, since the camera ships without a mount — including when that camera arrives inside the Room Kit EQ PTZ 4K bundle. It is a different part from the wall bracket and the two are not interchangeable.
Product Description
Ceiling suspension is chosen for a reason that has nothing to do with the equipment and everything to do with the room. In a raked lecture theatre or a flat-floor auditorium, a wall-mounted camera ends up either behind the last row of seats or down at head height in front of the first, and neither gives a usable angle on a presenter at the front. Dropping the camera from the ceiling puts it above the audience with a clean line to the stage, and it keeps the camera out of reach in a room that is used by people who did not commission it. That last point carries real weight in higher education and government rooms, where a camera at arm's height gets nudged out of alignment within a term.

The estimating detail that matters is what has to arrive at the ceiling position. The camera needs an HDMI 2.0 run back to the codec for video and a Cat 6 run to its LAN port for Visca over IP control. Power is normally taken over that same network run as PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at), which is why PoE+ is the simpler choice at ceiling height: pulling a mains circuit and hanging a PSU-12VDC-40W2= above a finished ceiling is work nobody wants to price twice. Confirm the switch port can actually deliver 802.3at before the ceiling closes up.

Above the ceiling, the load path is the other thing to settle early. The camera is 3.75 lb (1.7 kg) before the mount, and a suspended PTZ head is a moving load rather than a static one, so it wants to land on structure or on a purpose-built support above the tile rather than on the ceiling grid itself. Where the run crosses a plenum, specify plenum-rated (CMP) cable. Order the bracket at the same time as the camera and against a drawing that shows the mounting position, because CS-PTZ4K-BRKT will not substitute for it on site. Both mounts are stocked alongside the rest of our Cisco video conferencing range.
Key Features
- Dedicated Ceiling Part — CS-PTZ4K-CLNGMNT is the Cisco part number for suspending the PTZ 4K camera from a ceiling, and it is not the same part as the wall bracket.
- Carries the Full Camera Load — The mount supports the camera's 3.75 lb (1.7 kg) mass in a suspended position.
- Clears Audience Sightlines — A ceiling position puts the camera above seated heads with an unobstructed angle on the front of the room.
- Out of Reach — Mounting at ceiling height keeps the camera from being knocked out of alignment in rooms used by many different groups.
- Works With PoE+ Power — The camera can be powered over its network run as PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at), avoiding a mains circuit at the ceiling position.
- Spare Part Number Available — CS-PTZ4K-CLNGMNT= is the spare designation for replacement and stock orders.
- Ordered Separately — The camera ships without a mount, so this bracket is its own line on the bill of materials.
Typical Applications
- Auditoriums and lecture theatres where a wall position would sit behind the audience
- Raked seating rooms needing a camera angle down onto a stage or lectern
- Higher education classrooms where the camera must stay out of reach between sessions
- Houses of worship with long stage-to-camera distances and no usable wall position
- Government and corporate all-hands rooms covering a stage and an audience from one overhead position

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does the PTZ 4K camera include a bracket?
- No. Wall and ceiling brackets are both ordered separately from the camera.
- Can I use the wall bracket on a ceiling?
- No. CS-PTZ4K-BRKT and CS-PTZ4K-CLNGMNT are not interchangeable. Confirm the mounting position on the drawing before ordering, because swapping brackets after delivery means a second trip to site.
- What powers the camera at a ceiling position?
- PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) over the network run, or a local 12V/3A supply (PSU-12VDC-40W2=) where a PoE+ port is not available at that position. PoE+ is usually the simpler option at ceiling height, since it avoids running a mains circuit above the ceiling.
- What cabling reaches the camera?
- An HDMI 2.0 run to the codec for video and a Cat 6 run to the camera's LAN port for Visca over IP control. Specify plenum-rated (CMP) cable where the run crosses a plenum ceiling.
- What does the mount need to fix to?
- A suspended PTZ camera is a moving load rather than a static one, so the mount should land on structure or a purpose-built support above the ceiling rather than on the tile grid. Settle the support detail with the ceiling contractor before the ceiling is closed.
