Draper ceiling-recessed projector lifts lower a projector into position for use and retract it fully into the ceiling afterwards. Specified where the room has to read as a room rather than a presentation space — executive boardrooms, council chambers, multi-purpose halls, and any ceiling where a permanently exposed projector is unacceptable.

Scissor Lift SL and SLX series

The SL and SLX scissor lifts are the workhorse range, sized by drop distance rather than by projector. SL4, SL6, SL8, SL10 and SL12 cover 4 to 12 feet of travel; the SLX series extends to 10, 14, 17, 21, 24 and 28 feet for high-ceiling venues and atriums. Both support projectors drawing up to 12 amps, which covers most large-venue laser chassis.

Drop distance is measured from the finished ceiling to the required lens height, not from the structure above — that is the number to pull off the reflected ceiling plan before ordering. Ceiling closure panels are listed alongside and finish the opening flush with the surrounding ceiling.

AeroLift series

AeroLift 35, 100 and 150 are ceiling-recessed lifts rated by projector weight in pounds. They suit shorter drops and lighter chassis where a full scissor mechanism is more than the room needs. Ceiling finish kits are available in white to match the surrounding surface.

Specifying a lift

A projector lift is a construction coordination item before it is a purchase. The housing has to be framed into the ceiling, power and control brought to it, and structural capacity confirmed for the combined lift and projector weight — all before the ceiling closes. Control integration matters too: the lift should extend when the system powers on and retract when it shuts down, without anyone pressing a separate button.
