Background
Indeed's Scottsdale sales office was a relocation and brand statement at once — a 40,000-square-foot, LEED Platinum facility built with designer Corgan and general contractor Novo Construction. This wasn't our first Planar video wall for Indeed, and it wouldn't be the last: the same Clarity Matrix line later went into Indeed's Seattle office, part of a video wall relationship that's followed the company from city to city rather than being specified fresh each time.
The situation
Indeed needed five separate video walls built into one facility, each doing a different job: a welcoming display at reception, a boardroom centerpiece, a 4x2 array for company-wide town halls, and matching walls in two of the building's training rooms. That's a lot of large-format display to standardize across a single building without five different design conversations.
Why Planar, five times over
Repeating the same video wall platform five times in one building isn't a default — it's a decision. Planar's Clarity Matrix line uses an extreme narrow-bezel tiled LCD design, built specifically for a wall of panels to read as one continuous image rather than a grid with visible seams. That consistency matters more, not less, when a company is building five of them under one roof: training room walls and the town hall array need to look and perform like siblings, not unrelated displays that happen to share a building.
This is also where a long-term integrator relationship with one manufacturer pays off. We didn't have to re-learn Planar's mounting system, calibration process, or panel handling requirements five separate times across this build — and when the same platform reappeared the following year in Indeed's Seattle office, that experience traveled with us.
Reception and Board Room
Both spaces run identical 2x2 Planar Clarity Matrix MX55X arrays — four 55" panels in a tiled grid, extreme narrow-bezel for a near-seamless image. The reception wall greets visitors and staff on the way in; the boardroom wall pairs with a Biamp TesiraFORTE DAN VT digital audio server handling twelve inputs with acoustic echo cancellation, a direct descendant of which we still install today, plus JBL pendant speakers and a Cisco SX80 video conferencing codec for executive-level meetings.
Town Hall
The company's largest gathering space scales up to a 4x2 Planar Clarity Matrix MX55X array — eight panels instead of four, built for a room where the whole office gathers rather than a handful of executives. A Crestron DigitalMedia receiver and room controller feed the array, with a confidence monitor cart giving a presenter their own view of what the audience sees.
Training Rooms 1-3
Three training rooms each run their own 2x2 Planar video wall, paired with an NEC laser projector and a 164" Da-Lite screen for a second large-format surface, a Shure MXA910W ceiling array for voice pickup, and Vaddio RoboSHOT PTZ cameras for recording or remote participation. Repeating the video wall spec here — rather than swapping in a single large flat panel — kept all five of the building's large-format displays on one consistent platform.
Supporting the walls: control, conferencing, and audio
Every room in the building, video wall or not, runs Crestron DigitalMedia switching and control, with Barco ClickShare giving every conference room — from small huddle spaces to the large conference rooms — one-touch wireless presentation. Altia Systems PanaCast panoramic cameras handle video conferencing in the smaller rooms, while the boardroom and training rooms step up to dedicated PTZ cameras and ceiling microphone arrays. Digital signage throughout the open office runs on a separate Crestron matrix feeding Samsung displays, keeping the video walls focused on their own five showcase moments rather than diluted into general signage duty.

Network and IT
The building's core rack runs on Crestron DM-MD16X16 and DM-MD32X32 matrix switchers, with Biamp Tesira Dante audio cards tying the DSP system into the building's audio network. Cisco PoE switches power the booking iPads and wireless access points throughout, and a Netgear AVB-enabled switch supports the audio network's precision timing requirements.
The rollout
The pick list moved through multiple revisions as Indeed finalized room counts and video conferencing platforms, landing on its final ordering version in 2018. Each of the five video wall locations was built to the same panel spec and mounting standard, so maintenance and future expansion could draw on one playbook rather than five different ones.
Why would a company install five identical video walls in one building instead of different displays per room?
Indeed's Scottsdale office standardized all five large-format displays on the same Planar Clarity Matrix platform, which keeps panel calibration, bezel alignment, and mounting consistent across reception, the boardroom, training rooms, and the town hall — rather than maintaining five different display technologies with five different service requirements.
What's the difference between a 2x2 and a 4x2 video wall array?
At Indeed Scottsdale, the reception, boardroom, and training rooms all use a 2x2 Planar array (four panels), while the Town Hall — the space built for whole-company gatherings — scales up to a 4x2 array of eight panels, sized to be visible and legible from a much larger room.
Does working with the same video wall manufacturer across multiple client offices make later installs faster?
Yes — the same Planar Clarity Matrix platform used at Indeed's Scottsdale office went into Indeed's Seattle office the following year, and that kind of repeat platform experience carries over: panel handling, calibration, and mounting are already a known process rather than a new learning curve each time.
Can training rooms use a video wall instead of a single large display?
Indeed's Scottsdale training rooms each pair a Planar video wall with a separate projector and screen, giving the room two distinct large-format surfaces — one for the primary video wall content and one for projected training material — rather than relying on a single display to do both jobs.
