Product Overview

The Visionary Solutions PacketAV E5200 is a 4K60 4:4:4 AV over IP matrix encoder that distributes visually lossless video with sub-frame latency over standard 1GbE networks with PoE+. Built for commercial AV integration, it converts any HDMI or USB-C source into a routable network stream for conference room presentation, video wall sourcing, and enterprise-wide AV distribution. Native AES67 audio is included, with full Dante/AES67 capability available through a separately purchased PacketAV module, and three local inputs with HDMI loop-through let the encoder double as an in-room presentation switcher. Pair it with the matching D5200 decoder for end-to-end distribution.

Product Description

The E5200 encodes sources up to 4K60 with full 4:4:4 chroma sampling using Visionary's JPEG2000-based, dynamically optimized compression codec, which analyzes source content to preserve fine computer-generated graphics and full-motion video at adjustable bitrates from 50 to 800 Mbps. Sub-frame latency of approximately 2 ms at 1080p60 and 4K60 4:4:4 supports live IMAG, KVM-over-IP, and interactive presentation work. Two HDMI inputs and one USB-C input (DisplayPort Alt Mode) feed an internal switcher with HDMI loop-through, with selection by auto-switching, control system, or the embedded web UI — a practical layout for boardroom and multi-purpose room AV design where a local confidence display is needed.

A single PoE+ network drop carries video, audio, USB, and control, with VLAN tagging available to separate AV traffic on a corporate network. The Ethernet expansion port (PSE) passes network connectivity and PoE through to downstream LAN devices or daisy-chained endpoints. Native AES67 audio output (up to 2 channels) ships standard, and the optional Dante/AES67 hardware module adds up to 4 channels of Dante networked audio embedding and de-embedding at 24-bit/48 kHz. Independent routing lets integrators matrix video, audio, USB, IR, and RS-232 separately, and a full-motion MJPEG substream provides preview feeds without affecting the primary stream. Enterprise security — AES-256 stream encryption, 802.1x authentication, HTTPS API, and SSH — plus TAA compliance make the E5200 appropriate for government space and corporate standards. Control integration runs through Vision Lite software and third-party drivers for Crestron, Q-SYS, Symetrix, and RTI, and rack-mount kits support high-density head-end installation.

Key Features

  • 4K60 4:4:4 over 1GbE — Encodes full-chroma UHD video for standard Gigabit networks without fiber or 10G switching.
  • Sub-Frame Latency — Approximately 2 ms at 1080p60 and 4K60 4:4:4 keeps live camera and presenter feeds synchronized.
  • Three-Input Local Switcher — Two HDMI inputs plus USB-C with HDMI loop-through support auto-switching or control-system selection.
  • Native AES67 Audio — Interoperates with AES67-compliant audio networks out of the box, up to 2 channels.
  • Upgradeable to Dante/AES67 — A separately purchased PacketAV module adds Dante networked audio up to 4 channels.
  • USB-C Source Input — Connects laptops and BYOD devices supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode directly without adapters.
  • Single PoE+ Network Drop — One CAT5e/6 cable carries video, audio, USB, control, and power for clean commercial installation.
  • Ethernet Expansion Port with PoE Pass-Through — Networks and powers downstream devices or daisy-chained endpoints.
  • Enterprise Security — AES-256 encryption, 802.1x, HTTPS API, and SSH meet corporate and government IT policies.
  • KVM, RS-232, IR, CEC, and GPIO over IP — Extends peripheral and device control to any endpoint on the network.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which decoder pairs with the E5200?
The D5200 decoder is the direct companion, and the E5200 also interoperates with other Visionary 5-Series decoders such as the DuetD-5 and D5100.

Does the E5200 include Dante audio?
Native AES67 support is built in. Full Dante/AES67 capability is added with a separately purchased PacketAV Dante/AES67 hardware module. If you need Dante out of the box, consider the DuetE-5 encoder.

Do I need a 10-Gigabit network for 4K60 4:4:4?
No. The 5-Series codec delivers 4K60 4:4:4 over standard 1-Gigabit Ethernet using IGMP-capable Gigabit switches and CAT5e/6 cabling.

Will every laptop work with the USB-C input?
Source devices must support DisplayPort Alt Mode for USB Type-C or Thunderbolt. Most modern business laptops qualify, but verify your fleet before deployment.

How is the encoder powered?
Via PoE on the main LAN port (standard PoE, 15 W or lower). Supplying PoE+ enables PoE pass-through to devices on the Ethernet expansion port.

Can it integrate with my control system?
Yes. Vision Lite control software is included, with third-party drivers for Crestron, Q-SYS, Symetrix, and RTI, and an API for qualified system integrators.
