The DuetE-5 encodes sources up to 4K60 with full 4:4:4 chroma sampling using Visionary's JPEG2000-based, dynamically optimized compression codec, which analyzes source content to preserve fine computer-generated graphics and full-motion video alike. Three selectable local inputs — two HDMI and one USB-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode) — plus an HDMI loop-through output let the encoder double as a local presentation switcher in a boardroom or multi-purpose room. Because video, Dante/AES67 audio, control, and PoE power all travel over the main Gigabit LAN port, integrators can deploy the unit with a single CAT5e/6 cable run and no local power supply.

A second Ethernet expansion port acts as power sourcing equipment (PSE), passing network connectivity and PoE through to displays, touch panels, or daisy-chained endpoints when PoE+ feeds the main port.
