Product Overview

The Visionary Solutions PacketAV D5200 is a 4K60 4:4:4 AV over IP matrix decoder that delivers visually lossless video with sub-frame latency over standard 1GbE networks with PoE+. Built for commercial AV installation, it routes any networked source to any display for conference room presentation, video wall deployment, and enterprise-wide signal distribution. Native AES67 audio is included, with full Dante/AES67 capability available through a separately purchased PacketAV module, and a UVC-compliant USB-C output bridges decoded AV into soft-codec conferencing. Pair it with the matching E5200 encoder for end-to-end distribution.

Product Description

The D5200 decodes JPEG2000-based streams from Visionary 5-Series encoders and outputs scaled video up to 4K60 4:4:4 over HDMI, with automatic 4K-in/1080p-out and 1080p-in/4K-out conversion, image rotation, and video wall support up to 16x16. Sub-frame latency of approximately 2 ms at 1080p60 and 4K60 4:4:4 makes the decoder suitable for live IMAG, KVM-over-IP, and interactive applications where delay is unacceptable. Because distribution rides on converged IP networks rather than a fixed switch matrix, integrators can add displays in increments of one across an enterprise LAN or a dedicated private AV network using low-cost Gigabit switches and CAT5e/6 cabling.

The UVC-compliant USB-C output presents the decoded stream to a PC as a driverless capture device, enabling recording, streaming, and web conferencing in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx without separate bridging hardware. A single PoE+ network drop carries video, audio, USB, and control, and the Ethernet expansion port (PSE) passes connectivity and PoE through to downstream displays, projectors, or control touch panels. Native AES67 output (up to 2 channels) plus balanced stereo analog output cover most room audio needs, while the optional Dante/AES67 hardware module adds up to 4 channels of Dante networked audio. Enterprise security includes AES-256 stream encryption, 802.1x authentication, HTTPS API, and SSH — fitting requirements found in government space and corporate deployments. A full-motion MJPEG substream supports preview and monitoring, and control integration is handled through Vision Lite software and third-party drivers for Crestron, Q-SYS, Symetrix, and RTI.

Key Features

  • 4K60 4:4:4 over 1GbE — Decodes full-chroma UHD video on standard Gigabit networks without fiber or 10G switching.
  • Sub-Frame Latency — Approximately 2 ms at 1080p60 and 4K60 4:4:4 supports live, interactive, and KVM applications.
  • Native AES67 Audio — Interoperates with AES67-compliant audio networks out of the box, with up to 2 channels of output.
  • Upgradeable to Dante/AES67 — A separately purchased PacketAV module adds Dante networked audio up to 4 channels.
  • USB-C Soft-Codec Bridge — UVC-compliant output feeds decoded AV into conferencing and recording software as a driverless device.
  • Single PoE+ Network Drop — One CAT5e/6 cable carries video, audio, USB, control, and power for clean commercial installation.
  • Ethernet Expansion Port with PoE Pass-Through — Networks and powers downstream displays or touch panels from one LAN drop.
  • Built-In Video Wall Processing — Creates video walls up to 16x16 with 180/270-degree rotation, no external processor required.
  • KVM, RS-232, IR, CEC, and GPIO over IP — Extends peripheral and device control to any endpoint on the network.
  • Enterprise Security — AES-256 encryption, 802.1x, HTTPS API, and SSH meet corporate and government IT policies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which encoder pairs with the D5200?
The E5200 encoder is the direct companion, and the D5200 also interoperates with other Visionary 5-Series encoders such as the DuetE-5 and E5100.

Does the D5200 include Dante audio?
Native AES67 audio support is built in. Full Dante/AES67 capability is added with a separately purchased PacketAV Dante/AES67 hardware module.

Do I need a 10-Gigabit network for 4K60 4:4:4?
No. The 5-Series codec delivers 4K60 4:4:4 over standard 1-Gigabit Ethernet using IGMP-capable Gigabit switches and CAT5e/6 cabling.

Can it drive a video wall?
Yes. The built-in video wall processor supports configurations up to 16x16 with 180/270-degree rotation using standard commodity displays.

How is the decoder powered?
Via PoE on the main LAN port (standard PoE, 15 W or lower). Supplying PoE+ enables PoE pass-through to devices on the Ethernet expansion port.

Is it suitable for secure facilities?
Yes. The D5200 supports AES-256 stream encryption, 802.1x network authentication, HTTPS secure API, and SSH management, and is TAA compliant.

Can it integrate with my control system?
Yes. Vision Lite control software is included, with third-party drivers for Crestron, Q-SYS, Symetrix, and RTI, and an API for qualified system integrators.
