Product Overview

The Visionary Solutions D5000 is a cost-effective 4K60 4:4:4 AV over IP decoder for decoder-heavy commercial installations such as digital signage networks, conference room display systems, and campus-wide video distribution. Part of Visionary's 5 Series platform, the D5000 delivers cinema-quality, sub-frame visually lossless decoding with native AES67 audio support in a compact, PoE-powered form factor. Its simplified I/O set — a single HDMI output, single PoE Ethernet port, and RS-232 — provides the core performance of the 5 Series at a price that makes large-scale AV over IP deployment practical.

Product Description

The D5000 decodes 4K60 4:4:4 video streams from Visionary 5 Series encoders over standard Gigabit Ethernet, bypassing the limits of a traditional switch matrix. Visionary's JPEG2000-based adaptive codec maintains visually lossless image quality at 50 to 800 Mbps, with sub-frame latency of approximately 2 ms at 1080p60 and 4K60 4:4:4 — suitable for live presentation, IMAG, and interactive applications where lip sync and responsiveness matter. A single Ethernet port carries video, AES67 audio, control traffic, and PoE power (IEEE 802.3af/at), so each display location needs only one CAT5e/6 network drop. Native AES67 support lets the decoder hand audio directly to networked audio systems, and the built-in video wall processor supports arrays up to 16x16 with 180/270-degree rotation using commodity displays. An auto video scaler handles 4K-in/1080p-out and 1080p-in/4K-out conversion automatically, while seamless fast switching changes sources without black screens or tearing. Enterprise security — AES-256 stream encryption, HDCP 2.2/2.3, HTTPS secure API, 802.1x authentication, and SSH — supports deployment on corporate and government networks. Dynamic OSD text overlay, mass CSV configuration through the embedded web UI, LLDP, QoS, and control drivers for Crestron, QSC, and Symetrix round out a decoder built for rapid commercial deployment. The fanless, TAA-compliant chassis mounts behind displays or in racks alongside the AVIP-Rackmount-14 kit. For 4 Series projects, see the PacketAV D4100 decoder.

Key Features

  • 4K60 4:4:4 Decoding — Full 4:4:4 color sampling at 60 frames per second preserves fine text and graphics detail for professional applications.
  • Sub-Frame Latency — Approximately 2 ms at 1080p60 and 4K60 4:4:4 keeps live audio and video perfectly synchronized.
  • Native AES67 Audio — Integrates directly with AES67 audio networks for interoperable, low-latency audio over IP.
  • Single-Cable PoE Deployment — One Gigabit LAN port carries video, audio, control, and IEEE 802.3af/at power.
  • Built-In Video Wall Processor — Build video walls up to 16x16 with image rotation and no external processor.
  • Cost-Optimized Design — Streamlined I/O delivers core 5 Series performance for large-scale, decoder-heavy deployments.
  • Enterprise Security — AES-256 encryption, HDCP 2.2/2.3, HTTPS, 802.1x, and SSH protect content on converged networks.
  • HDR Support — Handles HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, and Dolby Vision content up to 4K60 4:4:4 HDR 8-bit.
  • Seamless Fast Switching — Source changes with no black screen, tearing, or frame lock.
  • Standards-Based Control — Vision Lite software, Crestron and Q-SYS drivers, RS-232, CEC, LLDP, and QoS simplify AV system integration.

Typical Applications

  • Conference room and boardroom display endpoints
  • Commercial meeting space and huddle room systems
  • Training room and all-hands room distribution
  • Auditorium and multi-purpose room displays

Frequently Asked Questions

Which encoders work with the D5000?
The D5000 decodes streams from Visionary 5 Series encoders, including the E5000, E5100, and E5200. It provides an economical way to expand display capacity in decoder-heavy 5 Series systems.

How does the D5000 differ from the D5100?
The D5000 provides the core decoding performance of the D5100 — including native AES67 audio — with a simplified I/O set (single HDMI output, single PoE port, RS-232) in a more economical package.

What network hardware is required?
Standard IGMP-enabled Gigabit Ethernet switches and CAT5e/6 cabling. No fiber or 10 Gigabit switching is needed, even for 4K60 4:4:4 content.

Does it support video walls?
Yes. The built-in video wall processor supports configurations up to 16x16 with 180/270-degree rotation using standard commercial displays.

Is the D5000 TAA compliant?
Yes. The D5000 carries TAA compliance along with CE, FCC, RoHS, and WEEE, making it eligible for U.S. government procurement projects.

What control system integration is available?
Vision Lite control software, Crestron and Q-SYS plugin drivers, RS-232, HDMI CEC, and an integrator API are supported. Creation Networks can assist with system design and programming questions.
