Product Description
The USB Audio Card installs in a standard EDGE expansion slot and presents a USB-B (device) port on the card's rear panel. When a laptop or PC connects via a standard USB cable, the computer recognizes the EDGE as a USB audio input/output device and routes conferencing application audio through the DSP. This allows the room's microphones, AEC processing, and speaker system to handle conference audio rather than the laptop's built-in microphone and speakers — a critical distinction for audio quality in professional AV environments. The USB audio connection is bidirectional: the laptop sends far-end speech to the room speakers, and the room microphones send near-end audio back to the conferencing application. All audio processing is configured within Symetrix Composer.
