The Sennheiser SKM 6000 is a digital handheld transmitter for the Digital 6000 series, in black, stocked here in the A1-A4 (470–558 MHz) and A5-A8 (550–638 MHz) ranges. It brings Long Range mode and the Sennheiser Digital Audio Codec down from the flagship Digital 9000 and adds AES 256 encryption. Capsule and battery are specified separately, so the microphone can be built to the application rather than the box contents.

The SKM 6000 runs the same two transmission modes as the rest of the Digital 6000 family: Long Range (LR) mode with the SeDAC codec for maximum reliability and reference audio quality, and Link Density (LD) mode with SePAC for up to five channels per MHz where spectrum is tight. An 88 MHz switching bandwidth and an intermodulation-free front end let large numbers of transmitters work on an equidistant grid in the same room — the defining condition of theatre, broadcast and large worship deployments.

The transmitter ships as a body only. Capsules from the Sennheiser and Neumann ranges thread on to suit the source, and the battery pack is likewise specified separately — which suits rental and install inventories standardising on one charging system across handhelds and bodypacks. An MZQ 9000 microphone clip is included. Capsule options stocked here include the MMD 835-1 dynamic cardioid module and the MMD 42-1 omnidirectional dynamic capsule.

Pair the transmitter with an EM 6000 two-channel digital receiver or the EM 6000 Dante version where the channel needs to land on an audio network; it is also compatible with EK 6042 and EM 9046 in Long Range mode. On the rack side add an ASP 212 antenna splitter, an A 5000-CP directional antenna and GZL RG 58 antenna cable, and manage battery turnaround with an L 6000 charging station. Where a body-worn channel is needed instead, the SK 6000 bodypack transmitter shares the same receivers and control software.
