The HSP 2 pairs a platinum-finish omnidirectional capsule with a neckband carrier that holds position without the clamping pressure of an over-ear design — the difference that decides whether a presenter is comfortable through a full conference day or a performer through a two-act show. The omnidirectional pattern is the right specification when the wearer turns off-axis frequently, because level stays consistent where a directional capsule would drop away. It also handles breath and plosives better than a cardioid at the same boom distance.

Choose the finish for the production: anthracite reads dark against hair and skin under stage lighting, while beige disappears against lighter skin tones on camera. Choose the termination for the transmitter: the locking 3-pin SE version fits Sennheiser professional bodypacks across the 2000, 5000, 6000 and 9000 families, and the ew version fits evolution wireless bodypacks. In a commercial install the professional path most often means an SK 6000 bodypack transmitter or SK 9000 feeding an EM 6000 two-channel digital receiver — or the EM 6000 Dante version where the room is already on an audio network. Which bodypack transmitters does each connector fit?

The locking 3-pin SE termination fits SK 50, SK 250, SK 2000, SK 5212, SK 6000 and SK 9000 bodypacks. It does not fit evolution wireless transmitters — select the ew variant for those. Confirm the transmitter family before ordering.

Should I specify omnidirectional or cardioid?

Specify the omnidirectional HSP 2 when the wearer turns their head frequently and consistent level matters more than room rejection. Specify the cardioid HSP 4 when gain before feedback is the binding constraint, such as an open stage with foldback.

How does this integrate into an existing AV system?

The microphone terminates at the bodypack transmitter; system integration happens at the receiver. An EM 6000 provides analog and AES3 outputs, and the EM 6000 Dante version puts the channel directly on a Dante network for DSP and conferencing platforms.

Does it need any configuration or gain staging?
