Product Overview

The Sennheiser SK 6212 is an ultra-compact digital bodypack transmitter for the Digital 6000 series, operating in the A5-A8 US range (550–607.8 MHz). At just 63 x 47 x 20 mm and 112 grams, it is designed for theatrical and broadcast productions that demand the smallest possible body-worn transmitter, with up to 12 hours of continuous operation and the reliability of Digital 6000 Long Range mode.

Product Description

Sennheiser SK 6212 – Mini Digital Bodypack (A5-A8 US)

The SK 6212 was engineered specifically for theatre and broadcast, where transmitters must vanish under costumes yet run all day. Its ultra-small metal housing weighs only 112 grams and is sealed against sweat, while two detachable clips (0°/90°) secure it in any orientation for performers who act, dance, and sing. Despite its size it delivers the legendary Long Range mode and Sennheiser Digital Audio Codec (SeDAC) of the Digital 9000 series, plus Link Density mode with SePAC for up to five channels per MHz. Intermodulation-free transmission on an equidistant frequency grid keeps multi-channel setups clean and simple to coordinate, and AES 256 encryption protects sensitive audio. The BA 62 lithium-polymer pack delivers a remarkable typical 12 hours of runtime, and both the antenna and battery are user-exchangeable. A lockable 3-pin input accepts Sennheiser lavalier and headset microphones (MKE 1, MKE 2, MKE 40, HSP 2, HSP 4, SL Headmic). Pair the SK 6212 with an EM 6000 receiver and a Sennheiser microphone for a complete, discreet wireless channel; it is also compatible with EK 6042 and EM 9046 in Long Range mode.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the SK 6212 different from the SK 6000?

The SK 6212 is significantly smaller (112 g vs ~147 g) with up to 12 hours of runtime, purpose-built for theatre and broadcast where the transmitter must be hidden under costumes. The SK 6000 adds instrument cable emulation and uses the BA 61 battery.

Which receivers and microphones work with the SK 6212?

It pairs with the EM 6000 / EM 6000 Dante receivers (and EK 6042 / EM 9046 in Long Range mode), and accepts Sennheiser lavalier and headset microphones such as the MKE 1, MKE 2, HSP 2, and HSP 4 via its 3-pin input.

What frequency range does the A5-A8 US version cover?

This variant operates from 550 to 607.8 MHz. Verify the band is available and coordinate frequencies with other wireless systems in your venue.

How is the SK 6212 powered?

The BA 62 lithium-polymer rechargeable pack delivers a typical 12 hours of operation and is user-exchangeable, as is the antenna.

Is the SK 6212 sweat-resistant?
