What is the RDL SF-TPS24A?
The RDL SF-TPS24A is an eight-section Format-A twisted pair audio sending chassis that transmits up to 24 audio channels. Each section accepts three +4 dBu balanced line-level inputs and sends them on pairs A, B and C of its RJ45 output. Local power connected to the chassis also feeds the remote Format-A modules on each output, with fault protection on every port. It is built for central equipment rooms that distribute many analog audio feeds to remote locations over structured cabling.
How does it work?
The SF-TPS24A has eight sending sections, each with three balanced inputs on a detachable terminal block. Each section converts its three +4 dBu sources and transmits them on pairs A, B and C of the associated RJ45 OUTPUT connector. Because each section uses all three Format-A signal pairs, no other sending modules may be connected on the same cable as each RJ45 output. Inputs accept up to +22 dBu with 20 kΩ balanced impedance, and frequency response is 10 Hz to 50 kHz (±0.1 dB). Precision active balanced circuitry delivers THD+N under 0.005% and more than 18 dB of headroom. The chassis is powered from 24 Vdc on the power jack or detachable terminal block, and that power also feeds all modules connected to the eight outputs. Each RJ45 power feed is protected by an automatically resetting fuse, and a green front-panel LED for each section shows valid remote module power. Pair it with the SF-TPR24A 24-channel receiver or the SF-TPRS12A sender/receiver at the far end. RDL recommends the PS-24V3A or PS-24V3 supply, and the chassis mounts with the SF-RA1 rack adapter or SF-UCB2 brackets.
