What is the RDL FP-NML2V?
The RDL FP-NML2V is a Dante network to mic/line interface with a separate VCA on each of its two balanced outputs. It converts two Dante audio channels to analog and lets each output level be adjusted remotely with RDL controls, OEM controls or 0 to 10 Vdc. Each output is switch-selectable for mic or line level, making it suitable for feeding two separate amplifiers or mixer inputs. It is built for commercial Dante installations that need simple, user-adjustable volume at the amplifier feed.
How does it work?

The FP-NML2V receives two Dante channels and converts them with 24-bit digital-to-analog conversion and RDL analog filtering. With the VCA at maximum, each line output provides +4 dBu balanced for a network level of -18 dBFS, with more than 18 dB of headroom. Each output has its own VCA circuit, controlled by 0 to 10 Vdc or a 0 to 10 kΩ linear control, with an attenuation range of 0 to more than 90 dB. Separate remote controls can adjust each output, or one control can be connected to adjust both outputs together. Compatible RDL controls include the D-RLC10 remote level control, the D-RLC10M with muting and the D-RLC3 preset level control. A recessed mic/line switch on each output provides 50 dB of attenuation for feeding mic inputs. Crosstalk is below the noise floor, and outputs mute when the digital audio inputs are inactive. The FP-NML2V is powered from an external 24 Vdc supply at 135 mA such as the PS-24AX, and a 24 Vdc pass-through jack shares power with RDL amplifiers; the RDL FP-NML2VP adds PoE. The FLAT-PAK enclosure mounts on shelves, backboards or in a rack using the FP-HRA or FP-RRA accessories.
What are the key features?
- VCA on each output — Independent VCA circuits let each output level be adjusted remotely over a 0 to more than 90 dB range.
- Industry-standard control — Accepts 0 to 10 Vdc or a 0 to 10 kΩ linear control from RDL or OEM remote controls.
- Mic or line outputs — Each output is switch-selectable for +4 dBu line level or mic level with 50 dB of attenuation.
- Feeds two amplifiers — Individually adjustable outputs are suited to driving two separate amplifiers or zones.
- 24 Vdc pass-through — A pass-through jack shares a single power supply with RDL FLAT-PAK amplifiers.
- 24-bit conversion — High-resolution D/A conversion with THD+N under 0.1% and more than 18 dB of headroom.
Where is it typically used?
- Conference room
- Training room
- Multi-purpose room
- House of worship
- Commercial meeting space

Frequently Asked Questions
How is output level controlled?
Each output has a VCA controlled by 0 to 10 Vdc or a 0 to 10 kΩ linear control. One control can adjust both outputs, or each output can have its own control.
Which RDL remote controls work with it?
RDL offers passive and multi-point rotary-encoder controls, including the RDL D-RLC10, RDL D-RLC10M and RDL D-RLC3.
Does the FP-NML2V support PoE?
No. The FP-NML2V runs from an external 24 Vdc supply at 135 mA. The RDL FP-NML2VP is the PoE version.
Can it feed mic inputs?
Yes. A recessed switch on each output selects mic level, which provides 50 dB of attenuation.
Can it share a power supply with an amplifier?
Yes. The 24 Vdc pass-through jack lets it share a supply with RDL FLAT-PAK amplifiers.
