What is the RDL D-RLC10?
The RDL D-RLC10 is a rotary remote level control for RDL VCA modules and OEM equipment with 0 to 10 Vdc ramp inputs, finished in white. An optical encoder allows continuous knob rotation, and an LED ring display shows the operating level. One control can be the MASTER with up to nine more wired in parallel, giving as many as ten control locations.
How does it work?

The D-RLC10 connects directly to any RDL VCA or OEM equipment that accepts a 0 to 10 Vdc ramp input. A single control can be wired to a ramp-controlled VCA using a single-pair shielded audio cable or unshielded cable. A rear-panel switch sets the control to MASTER, where it drives the ramp output and monitors its pulse terminals for additional controls. Up to nine additional controls set to SLAVE can be wired in parallel using UTP cable such as CAT5 or CAT6. Acceleration makes the level change faster when the knob is turned quickly, which helps when feedback must be pulled down fast. The LED ring works as a virtual pointer, staying bright during adjustment and dimming afterward to avoid distraction. Non-volatile memory stores the last level, so the output returns to the same operating level after a power loss. Multiple SLAVE controls can also connect to an RDL RU-VCA2A or RU-VCA6A, using the VCA as the ramp generator. The control is built on a steel frame with a detachable rear terminal block and fits a standard US electrical box, an RDL WB-1U wall box or an RDL SMB-1W surface box, with a cover plate such as the RDL CP-1 sold separately.
What are the key features?
- Optical rotary encoder — Continuous knob rotation gives long-term, noise-free level adjustment.
- Up to ten locations — One MASTER plus up to nine SLAVE controls wired in parallel over UTP cable.
- Integral 0 to 10 Vdc ramp — In MASTER mode the control generates the ramp voltage for the VCA.
- LED ring level display — The display is bright during adjustment and dims afterward.
- Level memory — The control powers up to the last level used after a power loss.
- Works with all RDL VCA modules — Also compatible with OEM equipment that accepts 0 to 10 Vdc ramp control.
Where is it typically used?
- Conference room
- Boardroom
- Training room
- Multi-purpose room
- House of worship
- Auditorium

Frequently Asked Questions
What equipment can it control?
The D-RLC10 connects to any RDL VCA module and to OEM equipment with 0 to 10 Vdc ramp inputs.
How many control locations are possible?
Up to ten: one control in MASTER mode and up to nine more in SLAVE mode wired in parallel with UTP cable.
What power does it need?
24 Vdc at 50 mA, ground-referenced.
How is it mounted?
It mounts in a standard US electrical box or an RDL WB- or SMB- series box. A cover plate is available separately.
What happens after a power outage?
Non-volatile memory stores the last level, and the 0 to 10 V output returns to that level when power is restored.
What warranty does it carry?
This product is covered by a 7-year RDL warranty. For warranty claims, RMAs or support, contact Creation Networks at (888) 230-3661 or sales@creationnetworks.net.
