What is the RDL FP-NML2VP?
The RDL FP-NML2VP is a FLAT-PAK Dante network interface that converts two Dante channels to professional line or mic level outputs, each with its own VCA level control. It adapts standard power amplifiers and mixer inputs to a Dante network and lets each output be adjusted from a remote control or a 0 to 10 Vdc signal. The FP-NML2VP adds PoE operation, including hot-standby backup when an external 24 Vdc supply is also connected.
How does it work?

Each un-attenuated output delivers +4 dBu balanced for a network level of -18 dBFS, so it connects directly to professional and commercial equipment without extra gain. A recessed mic/line switch on each output adds 50 dB of attenuation to feed the microphone input of a mixer-amplifier. Each output has its own VCA, adjustable with industry-standard 0 to 10 Vdc control, so one remote can adjust both outputs or separate remotes can control each. RDL offers compatible passive and rotary-encoder remotes, such as the D-RLC3 and DS-RLC3 remote level controls. Crosstalk is below the noise floor, the noise floor is better than 80 dB below operating level and headroom exceeds 18 dB. Outputs mute when the digital audio inputs are inactive. The FP-NML2VP runs from a PoE switch, and if an external 24 Vdc supply is also connected it runs from that supply and switches to PoE if the supply is lost. A 24 Vdc pass-through jack allows a supply to be shared with RDL amplifiers. The module is equipped for rack or surface mounting with the FP-HRA 10.4-inch rack mount or FP-RRA 19-inch rack adapter.
What are the key features?
- Two Dante outputs — Converts two Dante network channels to balanced professional line level.
- Per-output VCA — Each output has a VCA for remote level control by RDL or OEM remotes or 0 to 10 Vdc.
- Mic or line switch — Each output is switch-selectable for mic or line level to feed mixer mic inputs.
- Low noise and crosstalk — More than 18 dB headroom with crosstalk below the noise floor.
- Auto mute — Outputs mute when the digital audio inputs are inactive.
- PoE with hot standby — Runs from PoE or an external 24 Vdc supply, with automatic switchover to PoE if the supply fails.
- Rack or surface mount — Equipped for FLAT-PAK rack adapters or surface mounting.
Where is it typically used?
- Conference rooms and boardrooms
- Commercial paging and background music zones
- Houses of worship
- Training rooms and classrooms
- Multi-purpose rooms

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the FP-NML2V and FP-NML2VP?
Both convert two Dante channels to mic/line outputs with VCA control. The FP-NML2VP adds operation from a PoE network switch, with hot-standby switchover when an external 24 Vdc supply is also used.
How do I control the output level remotely?
Each output accepts 0 to 10 Vdc control. RDL remote controls such as the D-RLC3 can be wired to one output or to both for simultaneous adjustment.
Can the FP-NML2VP feed a mixer microphone input?
Yes. Each output has a recessed mic/line switch that adds 50 dB of attenuation for mic-level inputs.
How is it mounted?
It can be surface mounted or rack mounted using the FP-HRA 10.4-inch rack mount or FP-RRA 19-inch rack adapter.
What warranty does the FP-NML2VP carry?
This product is covered by a 7-year RDL warranty. For warranty claims, RMAs or support, contact Creation Networks at (888) 230-3661 or sales@creationnetworks.net.
