RDL DS-TPS7A – Stainless Passive Format-A Sender, Mini-Jack Input
What is the RDL DS-TPS7A?
The RDL DS-TPS7A is a passive single-pair sender in a stainless steel Decora-style plate that sends stereo consumer audio from a 3.5 mm mini-jack over an RDL Format-A twisted pair cable. It gives meeting rooms, lecterns and classrooms a durable wall input for laptops and mobile devices without running local power.
How does it work?
The stereo mini-jack input is combined to mono and isolated from the RJ45 TP CABLE by a studio-quality transformer, with a rear-panel switch selecting pair A, B or C. A second TP CABLE jack lets you daisy-chain up to two more single-pair senders, such as the RDL D-TPS6A, or one two-pair sender on the same cable. The DS-TPS7A is passive, so it needs no power and passes any cable power through to the modules on its other jack. RDL rates the frequency response at 20 Hz to 20 kHz (±0.5 dB); receive the signal with a Format-A receiver such as the RDL TX-TPR1A.
What are the key features?
- 3.5 mm stereo input — A front-panel mini-jack accepts consumer line-level stereo sources and combines them to mono.
- Selectable cable pair — A rear-panel switch feeds pair A, B or C so multiple senders can share one Format-A cable.
- Transformer isolation — A studio-quality transformer isolates the source from the twisted pair line to reduce ground-loop noise.
- Passive operation — The module requires no power and passes cable power through between its two TP CABLE jacks.
- Stainless steel plate — The stainless finish suits higher-traffic commercial spaces and matches other RDL stainless wall products.
