RDL DS-RC4M – 4-Channel Remote Source Selector – Stainless Steel
What is the RDL DS-RC4M?
The RDL DS-RC4M is a 4-channel remote control in stainless steel that selects audio or video sources from one or more wall locations. It connects directly to the RDL RU-ASX4D or RU-ASX4DR switching module.
How does it work?
The front panel has four pushbuttons, one per input, with a green LED beside each button to show which source is selected. When the panel is idle the display dims so it is not a visual distraction, then returns to full brightness when a button is pressed. Up to nine additional DS-RC4M controls can be wired in parallel using six conductors or UTP cable such as CAT5 or CAT6, for up to ten control locations. The DS-RC4M runs from the same power supply as the selector, drawing 24 Vdc at 30 mA, and connects through a rear detachable terminal block. It is built on a steel frame and mounts in a standard US electrical box or RDL WB- or SMB-series boxes, with a cover plate such as the RDL CP-1S.
What are the key features?
- Four-source selection — One pushbutton per input gives users single-press source switching.
- LED source indication — A green LED beside each button shows the selected channel.
- Auto-dimming display — The LEDs dim when idle and brighten during use to avoid distraction.
- Up to ten control locations — Multiple panels wire in parallel over UTP cable for multi-point control.
- Direct RU-ASX4D interface — It connects directly to RDL RU-ASX4D and RU-ASX4DR selector modules.
