Product Overview
The QSC CX-Q 4K4 is the mid-power model in the CX-Q family of four-channel Q-SYS network amplifiers, with a 4,000 W power supply and Low-Z, 70 V, and 100 V direct drive on every channel. As a native Q-SYS component, it integrates into Q-SYS Designer Software for drag-and-drop routing, processing, monitoring, and fault reporting. Compared with the 2K4, the 4K4 doubles power-supply headroom for greater SPL and longer coverage, while FlexAmp and FAST let channels be reconfigured to match speaker loads without rewiring.
Product Description

Built on QSC’s PL380 PowerLight platform with a 5th-generation Class-D hybrid powertrain, the CX-Q 4K4 pairs proven amplifier robustness with native network transport and control. FlexAmp distributes customized output levels per channel from a large shared reserve, while FAST (Flexible Amplifier Summing Technology) bridges, parallels, or combines channels for higher-voltage or higher-current loads. Four mic/line inputs with +12 V phantom power provide additional Q-SYS on-ramps at the amplifier, and eight bi-directional GPIO connections enable third-party device control without a separate processor. A universal switchmode supply with active power factor correction and multi-stage sleep modes maintains high efficiency across global line voltages. Four network-addressable channels fit into 2RU. For a lower-cost foundation, see the CX-Q 2K4; for the highest four-channel power, see the CX-Q 8K4.
Key Features
- Native Q-SYS integration — Drag-and-drop routing, processing, monitoring, and fault reporting in Q-SYS Designer.
- 4,000 W power supply, four channels — Low-Z, 70 V, and 100 V direct drive on every channel.
- FlexAmp power distribution — Asymmetric per-channel output from a shared reserve to match real zone loads.
- FAST channel summing — Bridge, parallel, or bridge/parallel modes for higher voltage or current loads.
- Four mic/line inputs — +12 V phantom power; additional Q-SYS on-ramps at the amplifier.
- Eight bi-directional GPIO — Local third-party device control without a separate processor.
- Efficient power platform — PL380 PowerLight with active PFC and multi-stage sleep modes.
Typical Applications
- Auditorium — Higher-SPL networked amplification with fault monitoring.
- House of worship — Distributed and main speaker zones from one amplifier.
- All-hands room — Network-managed amplification for large gatherings.
- Commercial meeting space — Multi-zone amplification within a Q-SYS system.
- Multi-purpose room — Flexible channel configuration for changing speaker loads.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the CX-Q 4K4 require a Q-SYS Core?
Yes — the CX-Q amplifiers are native Q-SYS components managed from a Q-SYS Core through Q-SYS Designer Software for routing, processing, monitoring, and fault reporting.
Can a single amplifier drive both 70V/100V and low-impedance speakers?
Yes. Every channel offers Low-Z, 70 V, and 100 V direct drive, and FlexAmp distributes power per channel.
How does the 4K4 compare with the 2K4 and 8K4?
The 4K4’s 4,000 W supply sits between the 2K4 (2,000 W) and 8K4 (8,000 W), offering more headroom than the 2K4 while sharing the same Q-SYS integration and feature set.
What do FlexAmp and FAST do?
FlexAmp allocates power asymmetrically across channels; FAST bridges, parallels, or combines channels for higher voltage or current loads.
