Product Overview

The QSC CX-Q 2K4 is the entry-level model in the CX-Q family of four-channel Q-SYS network amplifiers, with a 2,000 W power supply and Low-Z, 70 V, and 100 V direct drive on every channel. As a fully native Q-SYS component, it integrates into Q-SYS Designer Software with drag-and-drop routing, processing, monitoring, and fault reporting — eliminating the external controllers and middleware required by third-party amplifiers. FlexAmp and FAST allow channels to be reconfigured to match speaker loads without rewiring, making the 2K4 a flexible foundation for multi-zone commercial installations.

Product Description

QSC CX-Q 2K4 four-channel Q-SYS network amplifier

Built on QSC’s PL380 PowerLight platform with a 5th-generation Class-D hybrid powertrain, the CX-Q 2K4 combines proven amplifier robustness with native network transport and control. FlexAmp draws from a large power reserve to distribute customized output levels per channel, while FAST (Flexible Amplifier Summing Technology) lets channels be bridged, paralleled, or combined for higher-voltage or higher-current loads. Four mic/line inputs with +12 V phantom power act as additional Q-SYS on-ramps directly at the amplifier, and eight bi-directional GPIO connections enable third-party device control without a separate processor. A universal switchmode supply with active power factor correction and multi-stage sleep modes keeps efficiency high across global line voltages. The CX-Q 2K4 fits four network-addressable channels into 2RU. For higher per-channel power, step up to the CX-Q 4K4; for more zones, see the eight-channel CX-Q 4K8.

Key Features

  • Native Q-SYS integration — Drag-and-drop routing, processing, monitoring, and fault reporting in Q-SYS Designer.
  • 2,000 W power supply, four channels — Low-Z, 70 V, and 100 V direct drive on every channel.
  • FlexAmp power distribution — Asymmetric per-channel output drawn from a shared reserve to match real zone loads.
  • FAST channel summing — Bridge, parallel, or bridge/parallel modes for higher voltage or current loads.
  • Four mic/line inputs — +12 V phantom power; additional Q-SYS on-ramps at the amplifier.
  • Eight bi-directional GPIO — Local third-party device control without a separate processor.
  • Efficient power platform — PL380 PowerLight with active PFC and multi-stage sleep modes.

Typical Applications

  • Commercial meeting space — Networked multi-zone amplification within a Q-SYS system.
  • Conference room — Q-SYS-native amplification with local mic/line on-ramps.
  • House of worship — Distributed 70V/100V and low-impedance zones from one amplifier.
  • Multi-purpose room — Flexible channel configuration for changing speaker loads.
  • Auditorium — Network-managed amplification with fault monitoring.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the CX-Q 2K4 require a Q-SYS Core?
The CX-Q amplifiers are native Q-SYS components managed from a Q-SYS Core through Q-SYS Designer Software, which provides routing, processing, monitoring, and fault reporting.

Can a single amplifier drive both 70V/100V and low-impedance speakers?
Yes. Every channel offers Low-Z, 70 V, and 100 V direct drive, and FlexAmp distributes power per channel to match each zone.

What do FlexAmp and FAST do?
FlexAmp allocates power asymmetrically across channels from a shared reserve; FAST bridges, parallels, or combines channels to deliver higher voltage or current for demanding loads.

What are the mic/line inputs for?
The four mic/line inputs with phantom power serve as additional Q-SYS on-ramps directly at the amplifier, useful for local sources.

What about warranty and support?
